  3. My ex has 3 rental houses in Sutton Coldfield. He charges £800 to £900 per month. He makes £50 per week per house if nothing goes wrong. He just paid £20k renovating one house that the previous tennant had trashed. This house has been empty for 6 months, so he received no rent. He has to pay the council tax, gas, electric and water and insurance. He had to pay insurance on all three houses, and mortgages on all 3 houses. I told him to sell the house he's renovating as soon as it's finished. It's just not worth being a landlord. Tenants won't pay more than £900, but he needs it to be £1200 each to be profitable. Compared to the USA, Canada and Europe, these houses are cheap to rent. And they are in a good area, with good schools. He does 90% of the work himself, and he's 60. He can't keep up with working 60 hours a week to renovate one house.

  4. Lilly, my son gets ear infections constantly. His eardrum will burst probably 4 times a year, and he has to take Amoxycillin. It's free, as he's a child. School keep threatening me with prosecution due to his attendance. It's so depressing.
