  1. Hi Lilly. Today I did 3 hours foraging: red clover, mallow, elderflower, nettle leaves and nettle seeds, wild fennel and wild mint, plantain, dandelions, and roses. I spent 2 hours processing these foraged plants. Then I spent an hour emptying a million mason jars into 15 litre food-grade buckets. So that's 10 hours today I've been doing or thinking about prepping. Just a normal day for me.

  7. I went to a pharmacy to collect a prescription for my ex, as he broke his leg. The shop was locked up with staff inside REFUSING to answer the door. There was a note on the door telling customers to call a number. I called, and was told to call the doctor and have the prescription sent to another pharmacy. They are still closed today, despite having power, they say they lost the Internet and can't process prescriptions without the Internet. They don't know when the shop will reopen. There's only one other pharmacy on that high street. No other shops on that High Street had a power outage at this time. I'm concerned about special needs people and the elderly not get prescriptions and dying as a result. But I think that's the plan.

  15. I just went to Tesco to buy a chicken, one onion, potatoes and garlic. There were only 7 loose potatoes, all very small, I bought 5 and left 2. That was all they had left in loose potatoes. There were no loose white onions, only large bags of onions, or loose red onions. There were only 5 whole chickens left. The entire fresh fruit and veg section was, at best, 5 to 10% stocked.

  22. I have several questions I would like to ask you. 1. Where do you rent the car from? 2. Where are you based? What city/town/prefecture? 3. How do you plan your trips? Do you stay local to your home, or do your drive anywhere you want? Do you need permission to camp overnight in the carparks you stay in? Do you plan these stays? 4. Do you plan a budget (money) in advance for car rental, fuel, camping gas, food etc? 5. Would you take the car to go camping on islands in the Inland Sea, or Okinawa? 6.   35. My ex has 3 rental houses in Sutton Coldfield. He charges £800 to £900 per month. He makes £50 per week per house if nothing goes wrong. He just paid £20k renovating one house that the previous tennant had trashed. This house has been empty for 6 months, so he received no rent. He has to pay the council tax, gas, electric and water and insurance. He had to pay insurance on all three houses, and mortgages on all 3 houses. I told him to sell the house he's renovating as soon as it's finished. It's just not worth being a landlord. Tenants won't pay more than £900, but he needs it to be £1200 each to be profitable. Compared to the USA, Canada and Europe, these houses are cheap to rent. And they are in a good area, with good schools. He does 90% of the work himself, and he's 60. He can't keep up with working 60 hours a week to renovate one house.

  36. I trimmed my ex's garden today. He doesn't have much to forage, just pink roses, rose hips and fushia flowers and berries. In my front garden I have hawthorn, wild dog roses and hips, about 100 Jerusalem artichokes, and pineapple weed, plantain, nettle and dandelion.

  41. I'm stockpiling wood to burn in an outdoor woodstove. My sister removed several aviaries and is giving me the unkreosoted panels. Her neighbour has lots of hardwood to do a renovation, they'll give me all of the cut offs.

  43. Please be careful if your food is fresh, then freezes, and defrosts, and freezes again. Personally I'd use canned hotdogs, because they probably wouldn't freeze in a can.

  46. Lilly. Next month I'll buy a counter top fridge and ditch my 6ft tall fridge freezer. I can't justify the expense of running it any more. I'll live without a freezer.

  48. Good morning Lilly. It's great to see you adding to your skill set. I wish I had a campervan. Last night I foraged a shopping bag full of roses. I'm making rosewater. The house is filled with the fragrance of roses. I've got a large pot on the stove on medium heat, a large glass mixing bowl sitting on the pot, and bottled water with the rose petals. After heating for an hour, I'll let the roses seep in the water for about 30 hours, then filter through a sieve with muslin cloth. I'll decant the rose water into jars and bottles. It's for skin care, but I might reduce some down to make Turkish delight. I might even mix some with lemon juice and icing sugar to make sweets.

  50. When I'm on a train I check every station against the map, so I know where I am. Trains break down often in the UK. I'd assist other passengers too.
