Or... we pump our own reserves, be energy independent and not have our cost of fuel depend on global events? Alaska has the largest oil reserve in the world. Larger than Saudi Arabia, Russia or Venezuela... But that would mean less hands being greased resulting in cheaper fuel but that's just simply not the DNC way.

@ChrisDeWine I think (could be wrong) (also against leftism to independently think) our health and energy should be funded the same way as our military. We as Americans need healthcare and energy as much as we need our military to defend it. For example, Obamacare was a disaster because it went through every insurance company, politician and corrupt hand before the American people. There is a lot of fat to cut there.

The cost of fuel went up a whole dollar in two weeks... idk why lefties think we just sell and buy vehicles at the drop of a notice according to fuel cost. @jeffarnold3800 Biden just cut off 600,000 barrels per day from Russia with no interest in pumping American reserves... which is the largest in the entire world. Alaska has more oil than Saudi Arabia, Russia or Venezuela! He is looking to Venezuela for oil instead. Our fuel will be damn near $7/gallon by 2023 at this rate. We just went up a full dollar in 2 weeks BEFORE cutting off Russian oil. I know the left believes the government has no control on oil prices but how would foreign nations have any control on our prices if we simply pump our own wells and not buy from them? We cut the world event factor right out of our fuel cost... but that would require not greasing corrupt palms and that is simply not the DNC way.

@gryph01 America was only energy independent for 6 weeks in 2020 as the world shut down. By energy independent, I mean America was selling more energy (oil, gas, etc) than purchasing. American never stopped buying but what did happen was we were buy oil cheaper than we were selling it. Money for nothing. Trump did that in under 4 years and proved the only problem was bad politics. Trump is not a threat to America. Trump is a treat to DNC, new world order and globalism.

@ChrisDeWine 5% is a massive figure when you consider that America is the number one consumer of the world and there is over 200 countries. Its may seem insignificant to you but it is truly monumental. And in that 5% is 600,000 barrels of oil daily. There either needs to be proper regulation such as tariffs for exporting that benefit America of our oil production or it should be a federal ordeal such as our military. If America did pump our own reserves, we would cut out global events from our cost of living. Which as an American I believe is good for our fellow country men. Obamacare was ran through every insurance company and corrupt hand for example. Just cutting all that fat would allow Americans to have affordable health care. Very few things about America should be socialized such as our military, health care, energy and education imo. There is no such thing as a perfect democracy, or communist state. It's the balance in between that allows us to better our union. Humanity has its limits.

@stevemcgowen well, last winter I had a small truck that got 25 mpg but in practice it got zero miles to the gallon because it was buried in 4 feet of snow. This year I have a large truck on 35 inch tires that gets 8 miles to the gallon but in practice it gets 8 miles to the gallon because it's not stuck in my yard. There is a practical reason to have large trucks for certain people. Some of the people out in the woods need snowmobiles just to get to town.

Its basic economics to know what the laffer curve is and I don't mean laughter. Take our tax situation for example. If taxes are too high (DNC policy), big companies will donate their taxes to charities for write offs because it's cheaper on their bottom line than paying federal taxes and how big companies pay less than $1,000 a year legally. This is good because companies donate to charities but is exploited because the DNC who causes this issue, bashes companies for political optics. Trump lowered taxes to the point where it was cheaper for companies to pay federal taxes instead of donating to charity. This is a double edged sword but I hope you can see why the DNC is arseholes for causing the problem and blaming the right for things that actually make sense for tax revenue reasons.

We simply came to a point where we had more energy than we consumed and sold our oil for more than we bought it for. Thank you Canada for selling us oil cheap so we could sell it for profit. The average cost of gasoline in Michigan was $0.95/gallon by the end of 2017. A barrel or oil from OPEC went into the negative. OPEC was paying us to take their oil. So Trump essentially made fuel cheap which is good for the American people and was getting paid to take foreign oil at the same time instead of paying for it. How is this not the act of a genius?

Maybe in 20 years when there is such thing as a second hand Tesla. I have never bought a new car in my life and have zero intent to do so because for that $50,000 car... I could just buy gasoline for well over a decade. Then you add that $10/day to it, that's another $36,500 over ten years. So basically it would take me nearly 25 years to see an RIO of buying an EV over gasoline. And that's if I only drove it for 10 years. If I drove it for 25 years, it would cost me a total of $50,000 for the car and another $101,310 including leap years in electricity at $10/day. So yeah... I don't have $151,310 to invest into a car over 25 years. I rather have 60 cars worth $2,500 each that will take me WAY further than that tesla that DOES NOT DO GOOD IN COLD OR SNOW. So in short, No. If you want to see that change in society then you cough out $151,310 and pay for it. This is how moronicly delusional the left is. You guys need to come back to reality.
