The exit wound on a 5.56 would also be much smaller allowing the person more time before bleeding out. Then there is the hydrostatic shock that rocks the entire body and all the organs.. you don't know. NATO 5.56 is designed to not kill every single target for humanity reasons. We could shoot 50 bmg at everything and kill people by hitting them in the foot but that's why NATO 5.56 exist.
