@jaycorbin I don't think it's right to fire someone for mentioning their husband but for the sake of argument, what does anyone's significant other have to do with teaching children 2+2=4? The last thing that should be brought to school, especially in this day and age is your personal life. Teach kids how to spell calligraphy or something, not share stories of you and your husband in Flordia. Its really not hard to understand.

@charlotteinnocent8752 I do accept people for who they are until they are litterally paid to be a specific person. They have at that point chosen to make money at the expense of not being themselves. That is a mutral contractional agreement. I do not care who or what you do in your own time but for 8 hours a day, that person is paid to be a specific person and not necessarily entirely themselves. Say if I was a gun nut and I loved guns to the point it was a defining character my person. I should leave that part of me at home if I was an educator, correct? The same goes for sexuality. If that is too much for an individual to accept then they should seek employment elsewhere than education.

For example lefties say they care about women yet intentionally turn a blind eye to women's sports or women's rights in the middle east, both of which is Biden's fault.

@colewood3297 everything you said sounds reasonable however there will always be the Karen who will sue regardless of sexual orientation. So the answer is no, just go teach kids how to do math, read and write then go home. It's truly not any of the kids business what goes on in your personal life. Just do your job and go home, what's the Fn problem? A construction worker has no business putting family photos on his job site so why is it different for an educator and their desk?

On behalf of all conservatives, this is exactly what we want to see. Our disposition is when an educator crosses the line by explaining their sexuality to children. You do you on your own time but for 8 hours a day you are paid to be someone, act accordingly or don't be a teacher.

I'm saying it's not a child's business what you do with your own life and family. They didn't go to school to hear a story about trick or treating. They are there to learn. I really doubt anyone has been fired for that frankly as people do have some common sense. However, why are you acting as if there is no misconduct anywhere in America on the subject? You making a compelling argument and I agree however that is not the case all too frequently.

@jaycorbin I could go into detail on personal experiences with public schools however this is YT and not the place for that. There is a genuine problem with teachers acting inappropriately around children. That is really happening. Everytime the left pretends it doesn't exist or matter for their political narrative, somewhere in America a child is being harmed and the left are running shade for it. That is the problem conservatives have, nothing else.

And for your diversion, schools use to teach firearm SAFETY. Its wildly two different subjects. One is a tool that is inanimate and the other is your physical person. Annually there is about 16,000 gun related deaths in America excluding suicide. And the reason I'm excluding suicide is because that is the leading cause of death in the LGBTQ community. Litterally half of everyone who under goes gender affirming surgeries commit suicide. Suicide accounts for 46,000 deaths a year which is almost triple gun deaths.

We don't care if you are gay. Teachers are paid to do a job and be a specific person for 8 hours. The moment you talk about sexuality of any sort that is where the line is crossed. 2+2=4 and english is a bitch to perfect, kids don't need to know who or what you sleep with.

@Darkbrandon668 kids will say what they want to say for good or bad. That's not the issue. The educator should not interact or engage in that topic with children. Tommy, go to the principal's office and call your parent is the correct answer, not reaffirming sexuality to children.
