If i live to the point in human history where we can literally turn ourselves into cyborgs I think ill be comfortable with dying

@zacjohnson8404 Hed probably be one of the first to try it
6
@arabiannights5301 Nope, because its still not typical like you said. THose studies only indicate a higher likelihood of geniuses developing mood disorders (and some other disorders). Its not typical for geniuses to have those, its just more likely they do than the general public.

"Oh my god! how could someone drive cars when they know the dangers of driving cars"
2
@arabiannights5301 any evidence of that bud or are you just talking out your ass
1
@arabiannights5301 Yet you still havent named a single one. Typically means that its the norm for people with extreme intelligence to be mad. Unless you have a study that says that youre talking out of your ass. You using the word typically is what requires you to have evidence
1
@arabiannights5301 That wasnt your point though. Your point was geniuses are typically mad, which they arent. Im invested in this because youre talking complete shit and then acting like you werent. It might be the case that he has some mental condition but most of the conditions described in those articles you linked dont cause what youre talking about. Also it says a lot about you if you think that what I'm saying isnt worth reading yet still invest yourself in reading it, while simultaneously asking why Im invested in this. Try make a point without being a hypocrite

Sparrow Flying the average american driver has one car accident every 165,000 miles, tesla autopilot crashes have been reported to happen once every 3.34 million miles. autopilot is also not a finished product yet but its still far better than people
1
Sparrow Flying how about the fact that teslas have a 1.3% automotive market share in the country and there have only been 4 american autopilot fatalities since autopilot was released in like 2015 despite 38000 people dying per year on the road. Do you have any actual statistics to back up your point or are you just going to talk out of your ass some more?
1
Sparrow Flying "When they go on auto pilot they run off the roads and kill people." - you. There have been 4 documented autopilot deaths in america. Interesting how theres "all those other variables" and the autopilot feature has still only killed 4 people. Looks like a bit of a success in that regard to me. Also, they dont need drivers, the driver is a safety feature because as I said before, the technology is still being worked on.
1
Sparrow Flying Also you know planes have had autopilot for the last half century or so. They still have pilots. Are you also saying the auto pilot for planes doesnt work?
1
Sparrow Flying plane autopilot can literally land the plane. Stop talking out of your ass, please. Also if you say "a planes autopilot does work because its only like cruise control" meanwhile a teslas autopilot can literally drive through traffic, both of which still needing a pilot/driver present, wouldnt you say the tesla has better autopilot than the plane Literally all technology is still being worked on. Thats the nature of technology, in that its constantly improving

You realise an emp already causes damage to your nervous system right

Not necessarily at all

douglas wahid Given this doesnt even work yet id say a robot would be much cheaper than this for a long time yet

Also true AI/simulated consciousness is what hes afraid of. AI in general isnt dangerous, it already exists and is used extensively for a wide variety of purposes

Kinda early days to freak out about this guys it doesnt even fucking work yet and you know basically 0 details. Wait till there are actual prototypes and shit before being terrified of something that doesnt exist
