  4. Especially in third world countries where people have little knowledge on, and little access to medicine. Those countries will also have far higher death rates pushing the mortality rate back up

  6. Yeah thats something that annoys me. People keep saying "well these arent corona deaths they are all caused by other causes". Even if that is the case, corona is making the mortality rate of the other conditions higher so the virus is still causing deaths and has the chance of overwhelming the healthcare system

  8.  @dezznutz3743  mortality rates arent the proportion who have died out of the whole countries population, its the proportion who have died out of those who contract the virus, which isnt 330,000,000 people

  9.  @dezznutz3743  The number of deaths compared to the entire population isnt a number that matters because that will increase as time goes on. In fact by some day it might increase to over 330,000,000 even if that takes a hundred years, which would make the mortality rate over 100%

  10.  @dezznutz3743  If we know 40% are asymptomatic then cant we just add on 40% to the known cases number and have a reasonable estimate? Maybe even add on another 10% for people who have symptoms but dont bother to get tested and just stay home
