@Snowmon89 yeah apparently having conservative views makes you far right nowadays

ikr, tesla already has a working semi rig in development that self drives and is more mobile and powerful than any currently commercially used trucking rig. Truckers are fucked in like 20 years

interesting that work is both the number 1 enabler and preventer of chasing your dreams

because lobbyists and old fucks that base their opinions on their own thoughts rather than research and public perception decide that drug legislation is staying as it is for the foreseeable future

@pretzelboi64 You dont know what he originally thought. Maybe he thought programming flappy bird takes a phd when in reality you can learn to do it at home in a few months. Would that not be "not as hard as he originally thought". Stop being so aggressive for no reason. Not everyone knows as much as you but I guarantee no one cares about your thoughts on how hard it is to learn code

Or you could pay for the kid and leave them alone so that the girl can find someone who shes compatible with. Or you could take split custody of the kid. Youre a loser if you think ruining your own life and a childs is the best case scenario

@stuflikethis Id rather have a single parent who gets child support payments or 2 parents who have split custody than 2 parents that hate each other.
1
@stuflikethis Yeah I said as a child, Id rather have a single parent or split parents then two parents that hate each others guts. Just because shes a single mother at the time doesnt mean shes spending the rest of her time being a single mother. Interesting how you say "leech of others for child support" as if she cant also work a job and as if its not the other parents responsibility to either pay child support or look after the kid.

@logicpolice2451 cant afford it in an emergency because the system isnt set up to afford it. If the system was set up to afford it, it could

@sten260 How tf can you take advantage of a system literally set up to pay for people to live with no barrier to entry what-so-ever. You can take advantage of a job seekers benefit by not looking for a job. You can take advantage of an injury benefit (in nz we call it ACC) by faking or playing up an injury to get paid time off work. You cant take advantage of something that literally everyone gets
1
@sten260 Its not taking advantage if its literally designed so that people can live off it. Thats just taking the easy road in life not taking advantage of something. Most people will still want to work, theres a reason why most people dont settle for low paying jobs when they have the opportunity to get a higher paying one. Lets say a mind numbing job at maccas essentially doubles your salary compared to what it would be with just UBI payments. Do you really think there are many people out there who wouldnt at least pick up part time work in that position? Doubling your earning potential with no actual skills is a pretty good deal
1
@sten260 They dont have to double everyone elses salary, theyll be paying roughly the same amount as always its just people will be receiving UBI as well. A big problem with your line of thinking on this is your thinking about it in a purely capitalistic society like the one america has now. To make it work it needs to be more socialist, less protection of the big corporation.

@sten260 And just for the sake of comparison, in my country mcdonalds uses higher quality (more expensive) ingredients and pays employees more while still being one of the largest and most ubiquitous companies in the country. The math can definitely work out its just a lot and far more than either of us will ever bother to do.
1
@sten260 I never said just give people more money, you have to work out a system which alters everything, and like I said neither of us have the time for that. Mcdonalds definitely makes money in my country, theyre a business and they arent going to bother operating in my country if they make a loss. Its not "everybody gets $500" though. Youre looking at an extreme restructuring of society without actually taking into consideration anything being restructured. Complex problems dont have simple answers
