In more optically dense media the photons are absorbed and re-emitted by the atoms of the media as they pass through making them travel slightly slower overall but still on a microscopic level at the speed of light. All matter follows the curvature of space and time and it is theorised that matter is what creates distortions in space in time causing the curvature. Quantum mechanics is the most complete scientific theory ever made. Its not BS just because you cant understand it

  9.  Science Revolution  Light moves at the speed c=299,792,458m/s in a vacuum and the speed of propogation through a non vacuum depends on the optical density of the material. Light does travel in space in fact you can record it in slow enough motion to see it travelling.  If light requires atoms to have thermal energy then it would imply that colder materials are dimmer yet thats not the case, nor is it the case that hot materials are necessarily brighter, the brightness of an object is however directly proportional to the intensity of light being shined on it.  Your theory doesnt even line up with observable characteristics of light. Explain the photoelectric effect, explain single beam/2 beam/diffraction grating interference patterns. Show any evidence of a "rod"
