It seems absurd to me just how great a difference there is in the training of soldiers who are going to foreign countries to supposedly protect the civillians there, compared to the police who are supposedly protecting the citizens of america.

Ive never understood why "protecting society" is essentially a job for people who failed high school. It should be one of the most trained jobs there are

@johnbowman3630 I never said every wealthy person drives an expensive car, I said people who drive 150k cars are almost always wealthy. And we are talking specifically about joe rogan, who drives a high range tesla. If you see a dude who is a shambles driving a tesla, youll think either 1) he stole that shit or 2) hes terrible with money. If hes driving a tesla and hes put together, that just makes a strong picture of wealth.

@markdodd1152 Yeah because who are they supposed to call other than that? Just because its the only way to obtain that service doesnt mean it cant be criticised. Just like how people who are against sweatshops still use smartphones, because pretty much everyone needs a smartphone yet all of them are made in sweatshops. Doesnt mean you think sweatshops are ok, it means you need a product and thats the only way you can get it

I really think police officer needs to not be seen as a job for people who fail high school. If the government really wanted you to feel safe they police wouldve been given marine training

@thomasgerace4354 thats why its absurd to me. Because people are pretty actively against a lot of the wars america has been getting involved in over the past few decades yet the millitary still has basically the largest budget out of any government org
