That new armour had also better be able to stop RPG's at the very least and give at least PROTECTION against IED's otherwise what's the point

Well remember Ajax isn't capable of transporting troops as well as fighting the way the Warrior can, that's why I myself was under the impression we were replacing them with the Boxer wheeled AFV instead

@TheSailingMuso I hope you're right mate, believe me I wasn't saying that with satisfaction or anticipation, just long experience of British government budget cuts, white papers and general beauracratic red-tape bullshit, and knowledge of just how the once mightiest navy in the world got into this sorry state in the first place

If they want it to have any more actual real anti-armour capability than they had before it needs either a proper full-on tank-sized main gun or, more practically, missiles, ATGM's

@Karelwolfpup foriegn-used export variants have had them in launchers jury-rigged onto the sides of the turrets for years though, showing the need

@chaz8758 like I said if EVERY OTHER COUNTRY has seen the need for IFV's and AFV's to have missiles and have even adapted British vehicles we've sold them TO have them, that should frankly tell you something right there

Is it better that what we had before, and with it does that mean the apparently permanently shrinking, permanently cash-strapped Army has IMPROVED capabilities rather than diminished? Yes? Be grateful for what we're getting then, it's not what it should be but it's better than nothing

@olliplaysfm2951 no I thought the Ajax was an entirely separate thing, meant to replace stuff like the Scimitar light tank, could be wrong about that though? but it IS a smaller vehicle with less internal capacity and the Boxer can carry more troops than both, so just thought that the Warrior was on the way out either way
