Callsign-YukiMizuki ooooh I dunno about the not taking five to beat a Tiger part, if one was of the up-gunned Firefly variant then maybe (see 'Fury') but throughout the war Shermans never wanted to go up against German armour one-on-one because they knew that even if there WERE five of 'em by the time the fifth Sherman had killed it the other four would be blazing wrecks

Callsign-YukiMizuki yeah I'm sure in War Thunder a medium tank with thin cast armour, a completely outclassed low-velocity gun and an easily-ignited fuel system, designed and built for ease of mass production over individual combat prowess, can easily defeat a 60-ton behemoth designed to take punishment and dish it out in equal measure that was still effective from 1941 to right at the end of the war. Realism takes a backseat to arcade action in video games sometimes. And for god's sake I shouldn't have to cite any damn sources, this is common knowledge based on a combination of veteran's accounts, knowledge of the capabilities of the tanks in question and sheer common sense. You have SEEN a Tiger Tank in real life, right, the size of it's gun and the kind of shells it fires? And I don't mean in a damn video game

Callsign-YukiMizuki that long gun with muzzle brake on the version we called the 'Firefly' was the British 17-pounder, made in Sheffield, loud as hell and able to reduce a Tiger to a heap of slag :) Yanks AND Ruskies, you're welcome haha

sheep lord yes but the 17-pounder gun on the Firefly meant you didn't HAVE to be at close range which is a good thing if said Tiger tank is shooting BACK with it's 88mm at your 'Tommy Cooker'

James Zeng right well I was pleasantly surprised by that video, I don't agree with everything he said but I must admit you were talking from a much better source of information than I thought, therefore I apologize for responding so nastily before. Still doesn't mean I'm entirely wrong and you're entirely right but there was more to it than I thought so let's just agree to disagree eh

Chaos Theory which was why the Germans named it the 'Tommy Cooker' lol. Who says Germans don't have a sense of humour

The idiots high command. Couldn't have said it better myself

James Zeng also trust me an allied tank crewman knew the difference, the panzer 4 only had a high-velocity 75mm, deadly but much less so than an 88, and the armour could be penetrated easily enough by the Sherman's own 75. Try doing the same against a Tiger and you'll see the difference too lol (and no I don't mean in bloody War Thunder)

Nathan Peterson quoting people's own comments back at them like that is really fucking annoying you know. What am I saying, of course you do, that's the whole point isn't it... Anyway watch this https://youtu.be/Bj0AzL95Weg

James Zeng I never claimed otherwise! Just because the movie's a pile of horse dung doesn't disprove what I'M saying. The Americans wouldn't have had the idea to make it without the Firefly, that's what got the ball rolling

James Zeng you just won't accept when you're wrong will you?! Alright fine...
