@florinporumb3931 as for 'barely standing after WW2' LOOK WHO'S F*CKING TALKING 😂😂😂 at least we didn't almost immediately fall to Communism, destroy virtually all traces of our country's past and let millions of our own people starve to death just to satisfy an insane dictator
1
@stumccabe as far as I'm concerned they already started it and unlike some here I do not believe it would be the walk in the park for China they think it would be, sure they have the numbers but three words, Quality Over Quantity. That said you do have a point that there IS other ways to show them who's boss, it's whether our leaders have the balls for that that's the question
1
@outofthetrash5925 if it were up to me and, I suspect, were it up to the vast majority of the British military, Britain WOULD have helped in Ukraine, WOULD have shown Iran's pathetic forces who's boss more clearly and DEFINITELY WOULD be protecting Hong Kong right now. Sadly as you say previous governments just haven't had the balls, remains to be seen if this one will
1
@livinglifeform7974 oh really, what gives you that idea exactly?
1
@lightspeeder no, we're just secure in the sure and certain knowledge that we can kick the ever-living ARSE out of whatever pathetic conscript horde with no real combat experience they can send, equipped as they are entirely with either completely outdated or incredibly poorly and cheaply copied weaponry. Sure, they have the numbers but I'll take a hundred British troops over a thousand Chinese ones any day, QUALITY OVER QUANTITY
1
And?
1
@crimson6864 if only we British had some of the strongest, best-trained, best-equipped and most battle-hardened armed forces in the world that we could send to liberate and protect Hong Kong so they CAN... oh wait
1
@crimson6864 the government would never go that far though, maybe with someone like Thatcher in charge like in 1982 we would but not now
1
@jimgavin1726 oh I think we passed the point of 'ridiculous'-ness quite some time ago lol
1
Goodie Slypork cheers mate, same to you haha. Ever watched a channel on here called 'The Iconoclast'? Highly recommended it
1
Goodie Slypork awesome 😊 and well guess we're the resistance haha, no-one else seems prepared to actually fight back and stand up to these cretins despite the silent majority being against them too- but the 'silent' part's the problem there
1
Goodie Slypork oh absolutely, and well if the Iconoclast started such a party I know I'd join it, like him I'm from a Northern working-class background and I've been watching his stuff for ages and fully agree with his outlook on this stuff, and on political correctness, mass-immigration and the catch-all death-sentence "WACISM"
1
Martin Doyle think you're kinda forgetting the fact that for every single war America's started in that region there's been British troops along for the ride?
1
Remember though, they're "not a threat" right 🙄
1
Sorry, ignore that if you saw it before I deleted it
1
No-one but you recognises Russia's claim on that territory, "referendum" or no "referendum", the sole reason Russia still HAS Crimea at all right now is because NATO doesn't want to start WW3 trying to get it back
1
'MAD' ring a bell? Mutually Assured Destruction? Hasn't just gone away because the Cold War's over, and even if the country you use one against DOESN'T have them it gives somewhere that does the excuse to use one too
1
@peterwallace7015 you do know that famous charge was not the only battle of that war right, and that Britain and her allies actually WON that war in the end?
1
@Simonet1309 still doesn't mean it actually does legally still belong to Russia NOW, even if it has in the past
1
@Jaded29 and if you truly believe that you're either too Chinese or too brainwashed
1
Why the hell did anyone vote for this guy again
1
@unbearifiedbear1885 what are you talking about?
1
@gyaanfreak and you being Indian YOURself tells it even more
1
Ok bot @РоманМоре

The sandbags make it look like a Scottish Cairn

@John-hu9qg this is true but the Ukrainians aren't just sitting still and waiting to be shot at, they're proving excellent at hit-and-run attacks and at using cover & concealment, and are also largely an infantry-based force now rather than having much armour or artillery; everything from overhanging buildings and highway overpasses to trees and just a cloudy sky can be enough to save them from air-attack, that and not gathering much in one place in large numbers except when they absolutely have to of course; and this IS largely a ground war now and mostly has been, hell still will be even if they get these jets since there is only 27 of them and even THOSE will likewise only be used in small but devastating hit & run attacks; so all that considered the Russians aren't actually able to fly that high or that fast and still accurately hit anything are they, and if they want to that's where AA including manpads can fight back, simple as that
1
@John-hu9qg and if they have air-superiority why do they still keep losing planes and helicopters every other day then, 'coz they definitely are, only in small numbers but they're being shot down nonetheless, and that much has been independantly confirmed rather than just being propaganda
1
@Прекрасныйнезнакомец-п7ю and we still ARE saying that because frankly we'll believe it when we see it, I.e. when it actually gets through modern defensive systems and destroys something an ordinary missile couldn't have. Hypersonic my arse
1
Every American state has a governor, what was your point again?
1
Who else is gonna help
1
@Baelish-fx7ew well they're not ONLY that, it's just what they specialise at and the sort of work they're most often called upon for these days, they can and have done raids on heavily-defended enemy leadership like that before too though
1
Well this was four months ago and no "canned dog food" yet...
1
Mad Mick we'll see about that won't we
1
@noyneksyam8533 and what "major wars" would those have been that you're referring to exactly? 'Coz to my recollection we were pretty firmly on the winner's side of the Seven Years War, Napoleonic Wars, Crimean War, WW1, WW2, the Korean War, Afghanistan and both Gulf Wars, and I'd call them all pretty "major" conflicts
1
@noyneksyam8533 American Revolutionary War, sure, that's one, that's hardly "every major war" we've participated in though is it, and as for the World Wars, getting help from America to win a war isn't really the same thing as outright "losing" said war is it (especially since they wouldn't have been able to win said wars without our help either), and given to my recollection we were fighting Fascists and Imperialists how exactly would we have ended up as "Communists" even if we HAD lost
1
@cheleigh1 yes, colonisation was bad, go cry me a river, EVERY major country capable of doing it was colonising everything they could back then, America and Russia included, Britain was simply the most successful coloniser. During that same timeframe though, the British Empire did also fight several wars against other major powers of the same technology level too, and still came out on top there as well
1
@Slots-Room pretty sure 90% of the time the bulk of our forces were still from here as was the leadership giving the orders, sure we had foriegn allies or native auxiliaries and of course the mighty Ghurkas along for the ride too who also played important roles, but it wasn't exactly them doing the bulk of the actual Empire-building or we wouldn't still get such criticism over the legacy of the said British Empire would we, don't think it was Indian Sepoys fighting the Zulu at Rorke's Drift
1
@Slots-Room you mean the Royal Ghurka Rifles that are officially part of the British Army and have been acting as some of our best shock-troops for over 200 years (since the Anglo-Nepalese War where we eventually defeated them but not without one hell of a fight, after which we were so impressed by them that we struck a deal to recruit them, not just as hired guns but as an official regiment of the actual British Army, serving the same Queen & Country as loyally as any "Redcoat"; and which recruitment has become the single most desired career path IN Nepal, Ghurkas aren't just Nepal's defenders but basically their primary export at this point; and something we get tens of thousands of eager applicants every year for, who push themselves to the absolute limit trying to qualify). THOSE Ghurkas the ones you mean? 🙂
1
@Slots-Room no, they are British Army troops, officially soldiers of Her Majesty's Armed Forces Of The United Kingdom with full British citizenship, Nepal has it's own army which is a completely seperate thing (and which, along with the Indian Army is where most of the Ghurkas that couldn't quite cut it for British Army selection end up). The ones fighting on Britain's behalf count as British first and Nepalese second
1
We'd better send some military up there quick before China tries claiming Mars has "been part of China since ancient times"
1
@rustzz8 they're super-tanks, incredibly powerful and nigh-unkillable- supposedly. They're meant to be the tank that can take on even the latest version of the mighty M1A2 Abrams and (again, supposedly) easily come out on top, let alone old Ukrainian Soviet stuff. 20 T-14 Armatas could take on and beat the entire Ukrainian tank force all by themselves (IF they're all they're cracked up to be), let alone those 20 leading with a few dozen regiments of their latest T90's bringing up the rear. If they do that though, and the mighty T14 gets blown to kingdom come by the first Javelin or NLAW that sees them? If even WITH their innovative new hull & armour design and their hardkill active protection systems they can still be taken out by a single Ukrainian soldier hiding in a house or behind a tree? That's all the intimidation and psychological power, all the fearsome reputation of the supposedly toughest & most powerful MBT in the world, that'll have just gone up in smoke with it, and Vladimir Putin knows that
1
@deanconnor5528 that's what they said in 1982 about Argentina pal
1
Range ain't everything, and they should concentrate on getting the SU-57 itself to actually work properly before making something new based on it lol
1
@mikeloghry9521 the second vehicle was a tank
1
Don't forget the British Challenger 2 as well
1
@Прекрасныйнезнакомец-п7ю we know 😂
1
@pauldean8638 F-35 and F-22, which are the only real 5th-gen jets in service anyway
1
They probably don't have a hell of a lot left to fight with anymore, and it'd be a pretty pointless sacrifice
1
@hideonzeus6554 you clearly don't know much about British tanks then...
1
Shoryuken 94 America alone can wipe the floor with China or anyone else for that matter, and they're DEFINITELY on our side and not yours, so your point was?
