Think that's a bit unlikely; we'll only have a pretty tiny number of them compared to something like the USAF, and the Americans are working on their OWN sixth-gen jets as are several other countries, all of which will produce theirs in far greater numbers, so even if we DO become the dominant air-power thanks to Tempest it won't exactly be for very long. It's a beautiful and promising aircraft don't get me wrong, a worthy successor to the Typhoon and it's great we're gonna be producing all-British aircraft again, but it's not gonna exactly be something that'll change world history

  2.  @1chish  no-one's as proud as I am about us finally having carrier-strike capabilities again AND them being cutting-edge state-of-the-art ones again, but they ARE right about the F35 order being drastically cut, I wish they weren't but they are. That's why I actually think that guy who mentioned Harriers above there might have a point; it might actually BE good idea to try and get a few Harriers or AV8's back again, ones that are still in decent condition I mean, as they're gonna be being sold off nice and cheap now, they're still an effective attack aircraft in the right hands and they are of course the only thing (with the exception of stuff like helicopters, drones, tilt-rotors or the old Soviet Yak jets of course lol), OTHER than the F35B, that can actually operate from our aircraft carriers; if we don't get enough Lightnings it might actually be the only way to get a sufficient functional air-wing for both ships

  3.  @1chish  as for the army I just hope to hell you're right about those Challenger 3's, and that they'll be that beautiful beast of a prototype that Rheinmettal were showing off, y'know with the new turret, new engine and 130mm gun (in other words not just the same old tank painted black and with a few fancy gizmos stuck on it, looking at you BAE), I mean less than 150 is still a pretty small number but certainly a lot better than nothing, and if so they'll be less than 150 of probably the best tanks in the world 😁 and if we're keeping the older ones mothballed as reserve back-ups that's even better. All fingers and toes crossed 🙏
