What, if they had guns and tanks and planes and such you mean, and were still a professional, disciplined, well-led and well-motivated juggernaut of an army not whatever Mussolini's forces were supposed to be? Hard to say, they'd certainly stand a chance though, be a close call. If they still had their old weapons and tactics though nah they'd get slaughtered

@Ajb.bgr_ I don't know about 'easily', the real Romans built Hadrian's Wall for a REASON you know and open-field armies don't do too well against Guerilla-style forces fighting for their homes

@Ajb.bgr_ Many of them also had outdated or unreliable weapons, were severely lacking in morale and confidence in their commanders and their tanks were bloody useless. Ultimately the British proved to just be the better fighting force under those circumstances (with, yes a little American help toward the end but it WAS largely us 'Tommies' in that campaign), they DID surrender in droves mate, I've no doubt they would've been unstoppable if things were different, just like their ancestors and as it was after Rommel helped pull what was left of them together they DID indeed start fighting back bravely but ultimately were doomed; sorry. The Roman Empire WAS amazing, awesome, incredible but it had it's day thousands of years ago and that fat bald fascist wasn't ever seriously gonna be able to bring it back
