Kiwi speak has never been English. NZ does still write the same as the Oxford dictionary. America invented their own version of writing English. Many New Zealanders of multiple races say Faa for goodbye, a bastardisation of the Samoan Faa soi fua. There are many languages that are bastardised in Kiwi speak. New Zealander's shorten words to one syllable or two syllables at the most. Aussies put an 'O' at the end of many words to bastardise English into a more Mediterranean sound. When sommit is used instead of something, you realise English is a template and has never been an exacting language. Will Americans chicken clucking 'like'like'like' change over time. I'm sure it will. Whose fault? Blame the Poms.

@lawrencedoliveiro9104 I'm 24th generation Aotearoa New Zealand Maori and that IS where I have come from. Prior to that my family migrated from Tahiti and Raiatea. Do you know where you came from and how many generations can you trace back from?

@lawrencedoliveiro9104 Sure we have POMs here. We have Samoans, Tongans, Fijians, Australians, Americans, Europeans, Africans... My own Maori roots came to Aotearoa New Zealand 24 generations ago. Am I one of the early colonisers?
