  1. Been single for nearly fifteen years, quit the dating apps/sites for nearly eight years and independently living for three decades. Heavily introverted and anything outside of living alone is a culture shock, my friend found out when he moved in with me when he got made homeless after a break-up. My family went from asking when I'll find someone in my twenties to suggesting I will have to date a single mother and not bear a child in my thirties to now accepting reality and coming to peace with it. I refuse to use dating apps, AI and bots, and I have come to peace with my lot in life. I'd probably be described as a man who has gone his own way and has checked out but I don't label myself.

  2. They're usually given cheap, easy and populist lines such as "just touch grass bruh", "just lift bruh" and "just shoot your shot bruh". Now you have self-help gurus and coaches who are selling them those lines and (false) hope for money, setting men up to (knowingly) fail and then tell them they just need to try harder in order to keep them paying. It's sickening to see loneliness being monetised and the lonely being exploited for profit. I won't start on what I think about dating apps.

  6. The ironic thing being is that in the UK, "nice" behaviour could be deemed coercive behaviour and is now a criminal offence. Being a "nice" guy (or girl) could be illegal in the UK (not legal advice). Someone needs to test it in court though.

  8. Cases in point - masculinity self-help gurus, dating coaches and therapists. I would also say society too. Single lonely men tend to be ignored outside of family and acquaintances until the bills and taxes are due.

  20. You're probably looking at many tens of millions of adult men and women worldwide (more weighted toward men from the data I have seen). I worry that any "solutions" that will be presented will do far more harm than good.
