They're thinking of the powers they are about to be given once the Online Safety Bill gets Royal Assent.

I worry that instead of any consequences, this move will be a jockeying for position as the next Minister of Truth, sorry, I meant "Culture Secretary".

The Governments behaviour in 2020 should have been taken as a bad omen.

Coincidentally timed just before the Online Safety Bill is due to get Royal Assent and become law.

Maybe the MPs in a supposed democratic country should be forthcoming with their voters about the concept of abolishing due process so they can make an informed decision in 202... only kidding, Labour is exactly the same, there is no choice at the election and they'll all do what they like without the public's consent (they learnt from Brexit, Trump and Boris).

Very soon, the Online Safety Bill once it gets Royal Assent will allow the Government to ban Rumble and all ISPs and VPNs will have to comply by law. The timing of the expose and knowing that Rumble, Brand's primary platform and deemed one of the main arbiters of "harmful" content by our Government, would refuse any request to censor is suspicious.

The timing of Brand's expose is suspicious. The Online Safety Bill is about to get Royal Assent. The Government knows Rumble is the primary host of his content. They know that Rumble would refuse to demonetise and cancel him. This seems like a trap. Either ISPs and VPNs operating in the UK will have to block Rumble when the Online Safety Bill becomes law or Rumble will have to do like they did with France - block the UK.
