I remember the Code of Conflict and the line "be awesome to each other". What happened to that? I know why - what should be meritocratic and non-discriminatory is now ideological and political and anyone who steps out of line is silenced, cancelled and smeared. This will do to FOSS what the same mindset did with Boeing. As the saying goes, "to learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticise". I also oppose compelled speech, beliefs and thoughts. I also find that the people who demand I respect them ("be kind") have no respect for me based on my inalienable characteristics because said characteristics are presumed to be from someone who has privilege and power (neither is true).

The fact that they have to attempt to ban and silence Lunduke means he has hit a nerve with them, pricked their conscience and is on the right track.

See the recent situation regarding Hyprland and FreeDesktop. There are individuals drunk with (perceived) power who want certain groups out of FOSS in the same way we've seen with gaming over the last few years.

The only characteristic that should matter is how good your code is.

No. They were politically libertarian. It has since been taken over by authoritarian types. I'm on the centre left and moderately libertarian and I totally oppose the direction things have gone politically with an increasing amount of FOSS implementing things like Codes of Conduct, cancel culture, segregation and purity testing.

Never mind the potential of videos being struck for copyright infringement, eBuzz Central is lucky not to have got a Cease and Desist letter or worse.

I found social media to be a time waster and tiring to have a discussion on because of being constantly gaslight, strawmanned or misinterpreted. I closed all social media accounts years ago and never looked back. Wait until you find out how dating apps are designed financially to prevent as few long term relationships forming as possible! In terms of what to do with the "losers" who are beyond help, I'm not touching that issue with a barge pole (I value my account).

Of course he does. Might be easier to ask if there is a person in the world who doesn't have an account?

UK citizens don't need a spyware product to quit their addiction - the UK Government will soon make you get rid of your addiction - for free.

No FOSS project has ever succeeded by disenfranchising their political opponents and placating to social justice warriors who don't even use their software.

Having a stable and long-term release OS with security updates and programs packaged with everything included to be installed by end users sounds very much like the Windows model without everything on the OS side being properitary. I use Arch using native packages and haven't had much issue but then I am not reliant on my computer for a living. Recently had GRUB fail after an update but I am technically minded enough to fix it without issue. Tend to have issues with AUR packages and updated dependencies than anything else which can be fixed by rebuilding the AUR package against the newly updated dependencies. But I can see why a stable long-term OS and self-installed programs with everything required bundled in can be attractive. As has the other 90% (at least) of desktop PC users.

Always be wary of a Government that wants to "protect the children". They're not doing this to protect the children, they're doing this to protect them from you. This is likely a way to get rid of user generated content and consolidate information and media to a small number of conglomerates (see also, the war against the Internet Archive).

I installed Arch, KDE and the graphics drivers, why am I unable to get to a GUI and keep being dropped to a TTY? Hours later, 'did I install the display manager?' And then it clicked!

Wait... You're not going to make me as rich as Elon Musk through investing in crypto?

I have seen the comment bots but never seen any adult videos in my recommendations. And that's with age verification by Google. The most adult I have seen is purely medical videos that would not get a television channel in trouble if that sort of content was shown in the daytime. Do get inundated with dating advertisements though, despite being one of the most fiercest critics of modern and online dating in the comments section across YouTube yet their algorithm is not getting the hint.

The only country that has successfully ended doomscrolling and negativity is North Korea.

By your closing argument, would you deem it immoral for someone to download and install a Linux distribution, program or work without paying at least a minimum contribution and ideally, an ongoing contribution? Even if you pay for the OS, you still are expected to pay for personal, tailored support. Even Microsoft and Apple have adopted the self-service and community forums approach.

@ Those who oppose segregation, partisanship and authoritarianism are winning.

Personal choice? Potential new partner in the future? New Government law?
1
Not really. Despite being one of the fiercest critics of modern and online dating in various videos comment sections which you would think the algorithm would pick up on, I still get numerous advertisements for dating apps show up. Also, I get advertisements for baby and children's products. I do not have a pregnant partner, I am not and never have been a father and I do not have any offspring or relatives who would match that demographic.

He can take content from Stack Overflow using CC-BY-SA, declare it in the description to keep it within the terms of the licence, monetise it and rake the cash in (of course he has a Patreon, having an account is the third thing guaranteed in life nowadays).
