I fear we are starting to see the beginning of humans revert back to being a tournament species (humans pair bonding in specific circumstances is actually a novel situation) and that would entail a small percentage of high status males engaging in polygynous relationships while most men get nothing. We're seeing dating app data showing this sort of situation already playing out. Not widespread, 70-80% of adults are in a committed relationship as things stand but things are changing slowly.
