  1. There's a big difference between introduction agencies that cost thousands in membership fees because they expect you to only use their service once. If they succeed, you never see them again. If they fail, you will never use them again. Tinder does not have that incentive, it is a mass market product like pay TV, they can't afford for people to leave for long term relationships or believe it isn't working and quit.

  2. There is a valid reason why someone may wish to have a cheap first date. It prevents men falling victim to women who only use them for a meal and then ghost them once the money runs out. It is a useful filter to remove such women from your dating pool. Going to be a bigger problem as we go further into the cost of living crisis.

  3. The problem is, recent data suggests online dating in the last couple of years (want to guess why?) has exploded in popularity to the point where it is now the only game in town for meeting someone.

  4. You have people preaching that there's "the one" or a "soul mate" for everyone whilst simultaneously preaching that you are not entitled to have a relationship at any point in your life as a man.

  5. The problem is, the people who do recognise that there is a problem with Tinder and either refuse to use it or quit in protest are the people whom neither Tinder or women want. The high value men who reap the rewards of Tinder will never quit because they have no incentive to concede to the men below them.

  6.  @yvonnehorde1097  Yes. I believe most people now meet their significant others in closed social groups offline or via social media. A minority of people tend to find a long term partner via online dating.

  7. This will not end well for society if we don't acknowledge this problem and if we do acknowledge it, blame everything on the single men.
