Those who refuse to accept the logical metric celsius (and kilometres, UK take note) are the same types who refuse to accept that the BS 1363 plug and socket type is the best standard in the world. Change my mind.

I still haven't forgiven Sony for enforcing a worldwide patent that prevented DAB radios from being able to display the transmitters it was tuned to until 2017 (and no, Sony did not include that functionality in its radios).

There is a case study for the consequences of algorithmic complacency. This is a particular problem with dating apps where algorithms that determine who appears on the stack you're served are purposely designed to promote highly attractive/status individuals who encourage traffic to the app and keep you single because that's how the apps make a profit. Algorithms are now having a negative noticeable effect on real life and society as a whole as dating apps are now statistically the only game in town.

Why is 20% value added tax put on smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in the UK? For what are essential items that could save lives, why can't the Government treat them like food and make them VAT exempt?
