Yuval Harari has another definition of religion that includes socialism. I had arrived to that same conclusion be4 read it. Of course socialists deny it for not be included in the discrimination against religions.

Too signals of religion are fanaticism, veneration to saints, imposition of laws and values... Just see how comunists behave as religious in basically verything. And this is an idea of mine: God is a overhuman entity in wich people searchs protection and luck and justify the laws of the followers of the faith. For comunists, is the state. With those 2 postulates, both comunism and capitalism can be accounted as religion. Of course one can follow both capitalism and comunism, there are religions who arent exclusive, and too exist something called syncretism. Buddhism and hinduism are compatible religions, and there were greeks that worshipped both the oficial gods and secret cults. Well, science is a religion diferent to others: It's true and works. For that reason is not a religion because follow something that works its rational. I agree, is the less religion alike idea, but scientists can be dogmatic and close minded too and think that science has more atributes than it really has. Hehehe capitalism in fact works too, but people expects from it and does more than seems reasonable. Guy, you are giving too much credit to fanatic religions who reject to follow others. Before those religions became dominant by actively eliminating competence, people wasnt so xenophobic with mix religions.

But there are people saying that science can completely replace religion and be the only source of any knowledge, even morals.
