Because their doctrine strictly prohibits harming anyone that is not causing harm to them, and encourages hospitality and generosity to guests and outsiders - to set a good example and show them the way. History and current events seem to correlate this, even with examples such as President Obama's foreign advisor, Stuart Seldowitz or Henry Kissinger or Madeleine Albrite. I could probably list hundreds of examples. Quite simple, really. Occam's razor in play.
