hey berns if you want to opt to be audited and pay the tax rate lower class does, or an equal amount of funds - then that would be a great step in leading by example and other congress could all pool their tax equivalent money amounts together and see if that can be implemented toward new bills regarding healthcare or limits on rent amounts. the issue unaddressed is that regardless of tax bracket we don’t know or feel right about where our tax dollars go. theres broad cultural sentiment that taxes is helpful and necessary but it’s very questionable that much of it is for certain good if say it sustains weaponry and war along the way of road conditions. we want the rich taxed fairly ok but then does this mean better schools and public transportation or does it mean more war weaponry and more cops. taxing the rich assumes that money goes toward the non one-percent or this is very vague / not articulated, and i find no historical model evident that suggests it would equate to bettering lives of the non rich, if i’m not missing something.

@realtalk7547 interesting counter position for sure but is making 30k a year a success story to you? those ppl work hard and if they are t getting better wages then that’s on them, as not working hard enough or please demonstrate some logic on this regarding working class being undervalued in order to help others get paid several times their wages.
