Its very very rare that it happens. Not sure if this still holds but the oldest guy to get through BUD/S was a 38 year old reservist. If your PST times are killer and know the right people it can happen.

@wolfumz no I gotcha. I'll give you my best educated guess. So im not sure on their rotation in the reserves but they would be called up a few months before deploying so they can train with their team. You keep your rank so you just fall right in. Thing with SEALs though it isn't really about rank... you have your platoon leader but SEALs being team oriented don't put a lot of stock into it. After workups they deploy which can range from anywhere between 6 months to 18 months who knowd

We did a mock hell week when I was in the fleet transition program... you can't adequately describe the suck factor unless you've done it.

Isn't that only 24hrs

And the you're already a SEAL thing. A story we were told in prep one guy showed up with a trident tattooed on his back at bud/s... he never got his chance let's just say that is what they told us lol

@wolfumz well this is what my recruiter told me years ago. It was just a reservist that hooked up with a SEAL motivator. He trained like crazy and had to 10% PST scores. Somehow he got into buds and made it

@wolfumz I might have misunderstood you though. After active duty you can always join the reserves if that's what you meant.

After my TAD time in the SEAL swcc transition program I learned I was harder than most but not as hard as I needed to be
