@andynjw1163 Andy mate you don't exchange your own money - the money you exchange belongs to the Bank of England! It's not your money! Does your money have your head printed on it and states that Andy NJW promises to pay the bearer x amount?? No it doesn'tt!! So you use money that belongs to the Crown and you give some of that money to Her Majesty's Government and they spend it as they see fit. if Her Majesty's Government wish to spend that money to uphold an obligation they have after signing the 1951 UN Refugee Convention, there's FA you can do about it! So shut up, get on with your own life and leave Her Majesty and her Parliament/Government to sort out the business of the country!

@andynjw1163 as far as I'm aware Her Majesty's Government make the payments via the Home Office! The reason why those payments are made is because the UK is a signatory to the 1951 UN Refugee Convention. I really don't know what your beef is Andy! Be rest assured the hotel owners benefitting from the payments will be waving their Union Jack flags with glee!!

@andynjw1163 what case andy? The money Her Majesty's Government get from you can go anywhere. The money might go to pay a doctor's salary or a teacher's pension or somebody's disability benefit. The money might go to the Queen or pay a pharmaceutical company for prescriptions in wales. The money might go to a soldier in the army or to a RAF pilot. The money could help pay for a wide variety of things and none of the money Her Majesty's Government retrieve from you may go to any hotelier! To state your money pays for people to be in hotels is a very wild claim indeed Andy. But like I stated earlier if you're unhappy about the situation stop paying tax to Her Majesty's Government! I rest my case

@andynjw1163 oh dear - i see being patriotic hasn't gotten you anywhere has it? Nevermind but what I'd suggest you do is uphold your oath to Her Majesty and let them sort it all out. The Queen's currently in charge of the country, along with her Lords and Ministers and they're clearly sanctioning this expense. Btw I'm not privy to know even the areas my taxes get spent on. For all I know the money spent on housing asylum seekers in hotels could be reimbursed by the UN! If that's the case you're worrying over nothing! Maybe you should contact your local MP for clarification or alternatively contact the UN! I don't get to make the rules in this country!! In fact I, like you, don't have say in any of it!
