Compare the slowed down vacuum drop at 02:52 and the normal speed vacuum drop at 04:16 - they are different. - it's contrived!!!

@rwood1995 i guess you didn't see the clip where the entire drop apparatus was caught in one scene! So they could have shown the entire drop in one take!

Sorry just had another quick peek and if you watch around 4.16, in the very short clip when the objects were initially released the ball did look to drop faster than the feathers. So the entire demonstration cannot be accepted as evidence for anything other than there exists a large vacuum chamber in the US and Crian Box makes documentaries for the BBC! I can't believe people fall for this (pardon the pun) Someone do better poleeeze!

Moreover, if the video is genuine, it was not an experiment, it was a demonstration and nothing more supporting the idea that objects fall at same rate within a vacuum. Now this doesn't support the idea of gravity at all as the observation can be explained in other ways eg, all objects have the same innate propensity to be at rest and the objects only travelled (fell) after being raised up and that is your vector component! Quote - You also called Brian Cox, who is better educated and smarter than both of us a name. You think this when there is NO proof that gravity actually caused the objects to fall! Brian Cox is only educated into adopting and accepting the mainstream teachings for the masses! That's all. This doesn't mean to say he is right!

Moreover, what are the age ranges of these people? Have you actually asked them whether they are 'pretty happy'? And what do you mean by 'pretty happy'/? Watching this wreaks of contrivance; we never see the entire vacuum drop in 1 single take from 1 vantage point, at normal speed and at a slower speed, also one can clearly see @ 04:16 when the objects are released the bowling ball is inline with the feathers but watch closely and the bowling ball does actually accelerate faster than the feathers in that second. Then on the next clip @04:17 viewing the drop from a different angle the bowling ball seems to be in a different position relative to the feathers. What we'd like to see is unedited footage showing all objects falling over that height in one single take. Otherwise I'll continue to regard this demo as contrived to put forward a false understanding. In my opinion heavier objects will ALWAYS hit the ground first given enough height is allowed for ALL objects to reach their max drop velocity, whether in air, water or vacuum.

One egg untouched, the other egg filled with sand/water. The sand/water egg being heavier than the untouched egg. The heavier egg hit first! The understanding underpinning gravity demonstrations are so clearly contrived!

@remielpollard787 we've even conducted a series of demonstrations using a 2m vacuumed tube, where it was clearly seen the heavier object hits first everytime in vacuum. We concluded objects of different mass do not fall at same rate indicating there is no force or influence acting on objects rather the cause for objects to fall is due to a property of the object related to its mass - eg an object's inertial mass. Heavier objects will always fall faster than lighter objects in any medium given enough height is allowed for all objects, both heavy and light, to reach their max drop velocity!

@remielpollard787 if you don't conduct any tests yourself then you really have no authority on the subject and you are therefore not qualified to be discussing this topic with me!! I have carried out numerous drop tests myself in air, water and vacuum to be able to satisfactorily conclude that all objects do NOT fall at same rate over all heights - in my opinion it is the case heavier objects always hit first given enough height is allowed for all objects dropped to reach their max drop velocity! Your science is shit!

@willoughbykrenzteinburg tks I mentioned in another comment on another thread, that an object's rate of acceleration is proportional to its mass and every object has the same rate of acceleration which means, the only difference that affects objects falling in vacuum is their mass - so tell me how is the rate of acceleration independent of an object's mass? In order for you to calculate the force a moving object can apply one must use the object's mass! I think you've been watching too many UFO movies!

@willoughbykrenzteinburg in all of your equations you include MASS - so mass is therefore essential for calculating rate of acceleration! Whatever calculatoin or formula you use, you'll always include MASS! You even used the MASS of the world didn't you? You live too much in your head which isn't reality and no good for your own mental health either!

Kit Canyon you should be asking why Brian and the BBC doesn't show the entire vacuum drop in 1 take without editing or slowing down the footage!!! And why the rate of fall at two different times in the same environment is different. I've done lots of 2m vacuum drops (vids on my channel) and some people criticise but I'm sure like you, will NEVER do any drop tests themselves!!! It's so easy to do 2m drop test, just need a vacuum pump, some tubing and pipe, few connections - it's not rocket science. Like you typed, talk is cheap!!! So when are you going to do your own vacuum drop test of 2m and show a different conclusion to prove me wrong?

But if you actually watched that 1 feet of drop you'll notice the bowling ball does accelerate faster than the feathers. This is why they never show the drop in 1 single take at normal speed because it'd give the game away and everyone would see the bowling ball leave the feathers behind. The demo in the video is a complete contrivance imo.
