the UK belongs to the CROWN not the people!

Starmer is a traitor?? So you think it's right that ALL pensioners even those with savings, property and investments should get a free handout from the taxpayer?? I don't!
1
@SmashAllah so why isn't any other PM a traitor?
1
@SmashAllah why aren't ALL MP's traitors?
1
@SmashAllah why aren't you a traitor??
1
@SmashAllah was jimmy saville a traitor??

@richardjones8699 firstly you have to appreciate what it means to be poor. There are millions of poor people living in the UK. The poorest receive Govt handouts and these include pensioners so it is only RIGHT the winter fuel payment is awarded to them. People who are above the threshold are not the poorest of the poor. Life is unfair for many of us or haven't you noticed that?
1
@richardjones8699 I think it is unfair that people receive substantial amounts of monies every year without lifting a finger. I think it unfair some people receive more inheritance than others. I think it is unfair people own property whereas there are many people who can never own property. I think it unfair wealthy people decide what's good for people who aren't wealthy..............life is unfair, get over it!!!

@ScragNath those who have never saved have NEVER had the money to save!! So why do you expect them to save when they haven't got the money? Duh!!! One has to be given spare money to save!! If someone has saved they have MORE MONEY than people who have not saved!!! Stop persecuting the poorest of the poor for simply not having the money throughout their life!!!
1
@ScragNath but you enjoyed going out to work, receiving the income from your labour that would have helped you go on holiday every year, run a car, buy your own property etc etc. You really are coming across as being wholly ungrateful for what you've had in your life and are simply venting your frustrations out on the poorest of people who have never been on holiday, unable to buy their homes and don't even run a car.
1
@ScragNath you don't get it do you? Maybe you should look up the definition of ungrateful?
1
@ScragNath You should be pleased with the fruits of your labour over your lifetime, but it's clear you're not. Try being grateful for the things you've got that others don't have and have never had and never will have.
1
@SmashAllah I've never known of an MP to be charged with treason. In fact when was the last person in the UK to be charged with treason? And yet you're calling the PM a traitor?? Using words from the middle ages as if they apply to the modern world!! There's absolutely no logic in you, you're purely driven by ill-feeling!! It's not Starmer's fault you're life is miserable!!
1
@richardjones8699 if you're right the vote should go against Starmer in the HoC tomorrow? The Tories brought in the bedroom tax, were you complaining about that then? Double standards don't wash with me. If you want taxpayers money freely given to the richest in society there's something seriously wrong with your thinking. I really do hope you don't end up in a care home because you'll realise you're nothing special from the poorest 👍
1
@richardjones8699 but no prime minister has ever been charged with treason because they're not traitors!
1
@richardjones8699 It doesn't matter the number abstentions, what matters is the vote, if MP's vote for it, it will go through. I'm fully supportive of the move because there are millions of pensioners who don't need the money. Many pensioners I talk to don't need the money. I'm sure you could go without the money every Christmas too. Are you going to donate yours to charity? I don't have my heating on because I think it's a waste of energy and a waste of money but I don't complain to others about it. Btw Starmer isn't plotting to kill the Monarch or even go against the Monarch so he can never be regarded as a traitor!!
1
@richardjones8699 Many of your colleagues on this thread seem to think Starmer is a traitor. You state there's 50% of pensioners (5 million people) barely above the cut off point. The winter fuel payment works out to be approx £4 every week for a single person. So including savings and investments how will these people be worse off??
1
@richardjones8699 OK I'll ask you again, you state there's 50% of pensioners (6 million people) barely above the cut off point, currently being £218.15. The winter fuel payment works out to be approx £4 every week for a single person, £5 each week for a couple. So including savings and investments how will these pensioners be worse off?? Just saying they will die or they will choose between heating and eating is absolutely ludicrous. Can you break down their income and expenditure to demonstrate how much worse they will be off? According to Age UK, in 2023 the median pensioner household was spending around £50 per week on food and non-alcoholic beverages. So let's say that's £60 in 2024. That leaves £150 income each week to spend on energy and toiletries. Given summer is warm a pensioner would not spend so much on heating so they'd be actually saving money say for 6/8 months of the year. I'd love to have £150 each week to spend and if I've got savings and investments, however small I can still enjoy them if I fancy a day out 👍
1
@primeministerelec you still believe that propaganda?
1
@CRAIG5835 go back to sleep craig!!!

@richardjones8699 Starmer and Labour were in opposition then, don't you realise Labour are not the opposition now so they're going to say and do completely different things. Anyone would think you don't understand how the British Parliament works. You're failing to answer my question, how exactly are pensioners whose incomes are above the cut off point, who have savings and investments going to be worse off by not receiving the Winter Fuel Payment of £4/5 each week? To help you answer the question, the median pensioner household is spending around £60 per week on food and non-alcoholic beverages today which leaves appoximately £155 on energy bills toiletries. Bearing in mind heating really isn't required for about 8 months of year so they'll save money during those times, how are pensioners worse off? I'd love £150 each week from the state, no questions asked. I'm sure you would too 👍 Can you not see that imo pensioners get enough money 👍

@richardjones8699 quote - 4000 people who will die without that WFP what proof have you got to substantiate that claim?
1
@richardjones8699 😄😄😄😄😄 looks like the MP's have sided with me and voted to not give the Winter Fuel Payment to wealthy pensioners!! Completely makes sense to me 👍👍👍👍
1
veterans won't turn their back on Starmer because if one is truly patriotic they would be mature and leave their differences at home!
