@Stevekpb Russian troops were outside Kiev just after the start of the military operation. They only withdrew as a condition to allow peace negotiations to take place. The peace negotiations that Boris Johnson et al persuaded Ukraine to ditch even though they agreed to them.

@boink800 During the weeks leading up to the war which began on February 24, 2022, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley said that Kyiv could fall within 72 hours in a full-scale invasion. It's clear that there is some truth in the statements because even an American military general agreed that if Russia did launch a full-scale invasion onto Kyiv, the city would fall within 72 hours. It just shows Russia's aim was initially to protect the Russian speaking Ukrainians in the Donbas region 👍

@stream2watch No I don't actually. I do go with common sense, Russia has been very engaing in a negotiated settlement from the start go. Now that process has gone out of the window thanks to Boris Johnson et al and his desire to have war!!!

@boink800 You not know that Boris Johnson travelled to Kyiv and persuaded Zelensky to not accept the peace deal that was agreed to with the Russians? You've arrived at the party too late!!!
