  2.  @MalcolmXpat  the ECHR is not the main protectorate foir asylum seekers. For asylum seekers it is the UN 1951 Refugee Convention as you say and 1967 protocol. UN rules protect asylum seekers and make their channel crossing lawful. I would have thought the OP would know all of this! In fact I would have thought EVERYBODY would klnow all of thise!! The ECHR can be used to protect people's human rights once in the country if they face possible deportation due to unsuccessful asylum application!
