not in the UK where we have a first past the post voting system!! It's an elected dictatorship in the Uk with the majority voting Tory all the time!!

@ronniesimpson9141 but the English nationalists triumph time and again at elections over the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish!!

I totally agree, if one looks at the West's involvement in toppling countries Putin is just taking lessons from the West!!

@factstrumpprejudice6740 Quote - Claiming that Putting your mark on a piece of paper every 5 years or so is somehow magically democracy is absolutely hilarious. I totally agree with you. The West isn't any better or worse than the East!! People vote in the West only to have other people tell them what to do!!! The voting is always limited to a two party vote and those parties always put their interests and the Government's interests first. Sod the people!! If voting actually changed anything in any western developed nation, it would become illegal!!

@factstrumpprejudice6740 Yes but it's true though. When do people ever get to vote on lower taxation for example? Oh, they're never given the opportunity to vote on matters like that!!

@kquat7899 That's true, we may as well live in communist Russia!!

@factstrumpprejudice6740 yes and all these 'voters' are under a spell, a trance to think they are important. Reality is the people up top couldn't give a toss about the voter!! It needs a system that isn't top-down, it needs to be either shared or bottom-up!!!

@factstrumpprejudice6740 The EU has a rotating presidency because they want all members of the Union to 'have a go' at the top. Why can't this happen in the UK? Why can't the First Minister of Scotland be in charge of the UK, then the Welsh FM, NI FM too? It won't ever happen because those countries/provinces are ruled by England. I'm all for the break up of the UK. Maybe that might make things different in 'old blighty'.

@chrisdeep8417 tbh i think the UK should have a rotating prime minstership, Nicla Sturgeon, then Mark Drayford then The NI First minister then the English counterpart for Prime Minister. Just like the EU does.

@tinaandro1178 Might be the best option in the US but in the UK a politician can be in place for nearly 50 years and over!! That's not democracy at all!!
