His Majesty's Government, which includes mainly Labour and Tory members have put in place immigration and asylum laws that have been around for decades and are adequate!!!! They are not failing. There's nothing wrong with them. Some members of the general public dislike the boats crossing the channel and the sheer numbers of asylum seekers coming to the UK. There is absolutely nothing they can do about it but the Government has to somehow appease this group of angry people!! There's a lot of embittered natives living in the UK; they're unhappy with life, unhappy that others have more then they have, unhappy they've had to work hard all their lives while others haven't etc. These people are the ones who moan the most.

@dansegelov305 the government imposes or implements the business of Parliament. So labour does vote on tory policies/bills just like all other MP's! If the government want to change the way parliament or the business of UK plc work they have to go through Parliament and labour is a part of parliament!!

@dansegelov305 Quote - His Majesty's Government consists of ONLY Tory members! Err....no, Labour's official title is His Majesty's Most Loyal Opposition so they are part of the Government. Labour MP's form part of His Majesty's Constitutionmal Parliament which in turn oversees His Majesty's Government. Quote - The existing laws are not the thing that's failing. That's what I agreed with. Quote - the number of asylum claimants entering the system today is less than half of what it was 13 years ago under the last Labour government. Absolute tosh!!! The numbers have been increasing since 2010 to 74,751 applications in 2022!!! Read up on your asylum statistics from the Commons library!!!! At the end of the day the current Government aren't putting enough money into their institutions to carry out the extra workload. One only has to look at the NHS to know that!! Labour wouldn't do anything differently because there's NO available money to plough into the Home Office, the NHS, the legal system!! Britain is broke!!!! There's too many takers in British society!!!

It seems not only do we need civic lessons to learn about the structure of british society but we also need communication lessons!! Just goes to show what a cr@p education people receive in the UK!!

@alimantado373 Labour still has an input into decision making and still has the right to put forward bills to Parliament. As far as I am concerned Labour are just as part of Government as The Speaker is to the Commons!!!
