Station staff will still be there to help disabled passengers on and off the trains!! You're taking it to the extreme. Im sure your wife can use a ticket machine to get her ticket like everyone else. They are designed for wheelchair users. Perhaps she can buy a ticket on her mobile phone even?

What's the problem in closing ticket offices? There are plenty of machines available where one can buy tickets. There will even be staff on hand to help people use the machines. I really can't see what the problem is!!! It's all going self-service these days. One only has to look at supermarkets!! One thing is certain, they won't make the ticket prices cheaper!!!

If you think there's going to be no staff at major train stations you're absolutely deluded Quote - An app doesn’t help someone who falls and injures themselves or suffers a medical emergency in the later hours of night and early morning. Ever heard of telephoning 999?

@Harrier_DuBois Modernisation would have occurred on Labour's watch. Don't you realise how much technology is changing the world we live in? Gone are the days for the need for ticket offices at railway stations.

I'm sure there'll be staff on hand at the ticket machines to give passengers the information they need.
