  1. The institutions are not there for the people, they never have been. They exist to help the Monarch govern the people. Parliament is a good example. It comprises of three entities, the House of Commons, the House of Lords and the reigning Monarch where all Lords and MP's swear an oath of allegiance to the Monarch. The Monarch gets the final say on legislation and s/he can determine whether a bill is enacted and becomes law. I'm really surprised at the numbers of people who do not understand the structure of UK governance, including you Mr Goodwin!!!

  2.  AM-mw2wu  There are lots of people with your warped view on the structure of governance within the UK. I won't address all the points you raise but I'll highlight a few things. During Charles' Coronation Oath he swears to GOVERN the people of GB and NI. Charles is the only person who has the authority to govern the people of the UK. Nobody else takes that oath. Not Rishi, not Boris or anyone else. Charles does not need to be affiliated to any political party but he is a religious leader. He does not need to be political. The people can only remove Charles illegally. The people have no lawful right to remove Charles. It is unfortunate but a necessity that the British people need a Monarch because the British people do not get on with one another. Without the Monarch there is anarchy. The Church of England sees the Monarch as a leader to protect all faiths and that includes Islam, Satanism, Rastafarianism etc. The difference between the British Monarch and other Monarchs is the former is the only one to take a Coronation Oath. All the other Monarchs do not take an oath to govern the people. So you have some serious flaws in your understanding of the Monarch's powers in the UK and Commonwealth. But that is to be expected because you're not educated on the very structure of governance in the UK.
