It's my understanding they're not cutting the benefits, to save money they're not increasing them. So no PIP claimant is going to be losing money. They will however undergo the new conditions when their claim is up for re-assessment.

Disabled people get stacks of cash in the UK so it's only right the Govt prevents these costs from spiralling out of control.

@ From the little info I've taken in, the Govt are not increasing the amounts each year so the awards will not increase. It's just a way to save money in the future. Many people always think of the worst when these things happen. Btw, you do realise people's conditions can improve over time?

Let's hope the Govt does away with the 25% single residency discount for Council Tax.

@coolcat6103 There's no reason why a single person should receive a discount because they live alone. If they're on benefits they would be penalised for living alone in a two or 3 bedroomed property. If they can afford to live in a three bedroom property and maintain it then they can afford to pay the 25% discount. If a single resident is on a low income they'll be entitled to receive the Council Tax Support so I cannot see what your beef is? There's no reason to have the 25% single person's discount as well as Council Tax Support. Also a homeowner could rent a room or take in a lodger to increase their income. Furthermore a single resident might be open to co-habiting and it will mean there will be less isolated and lonely people living in the country. A single person's discount does not apply to a family.

@MissFlight-q8f single persons discount only applies to CTax. It doesn't apply to water consumption, roads etc. I think it's you who is expressing claptrap because you're off topic!!

@ You were talking about water and energy and now you've changed to talk about council services only like waste, recycling, street cleaning, libraries!! You have to realise council services are NOT run on a supply and demand basis, which is why people without children pay for the education of other children, people without cars pay for the local roads etc If people are on a low income they can receive CTax support to help pay their CTax so there is NO reason they have to receive a 25% discount as well!! If a single person receives a £50,000 a year income, why should that person receive help from the state to pay their CTax when they have the money?? If people can afford to pay for stuff, they should pay it!!

@ You must have deleted your comment wehen you did because i wouldn't have typed "single persons discount only applies to CTax. It doesn't apply to water consumption, roads etc. I think it's you who is expressing claptrap because you're off topic!!" It's funny how this reply of mine to you is not preceded by a comment made by you. It's clear you've deleted it.

@ I couldn't care whether the Govt are or are not scrapping it. I think they should scarp it and I am entitled to my opinion.

@MissFlight-q8f well you need to check through our dialogue and you'll notice it reply to a post of yours that is not there

@MissFlight-q8f triggered??? You must be confused!!

@ i posted opening comment then coolcat6103 posted a reply then i posted a reply to you but there's no comment from you in the list! So it must have gone somewhere for how else would I have known to post to you and address the points you raised?? Did I somehow think of your username and post a response to you BEFORE you had even posted on the thread?? I don't think so!

@MissFlight-q8f tks for the instruction - i checked in a different browser and guiess what?? I still couldn't find your comment! But it's irrespective because you told me you hadn't deleted a comment where you talked about roads, utilities etc and yet there is clearly on this thread a comment of yours missing that I replied to! Something has happened to it! But it doesn't matter because you haven't changed my opinion - labour would be good to get rid of the 25% single persons CTax allowance because there already exists CTax Support to help people pay their CTax!!

@MissFlight-q8f Well, you got a friend to check as well? Are they single too?? Imo lots of people have biases which mean they depart from reason and are prone to only express views that are inline with their biases. It's a common trait and lots of people do it. They're not interested in what is right or wrong, what is good or bad, they merely want to say and do things that are supportive of their biases and prejudices. Reason has it that it doesn't make sense for a government to offer a 25% single person's CTax discount when there exists CTax Support available to ALL those who cannot afford to pay their CTax! BTW I'm single as well but understand that it is wrong of me to hold biased and prejudiced views!!

@ Even got a friend to check? Is he single too? Hahaha. Single people, even couples can receive Council Tax Support if they're on a low income. Quote - Single people......use much less services and amenities so should pay 50% less. Well in that case single people should recieve less income than married or cohabiting adults and those with children should receive much more than you. Set aside your biases before making judgements. Btw, I do hope the Govt stops the 25% single persons residency discount. This is my position I will always promote. I think you should consider becoming Mrs Flight or are you too frightened to increase the white population in the country?

@MissFlight-q8fYour friend to check? Is he single too? Set aside your biases before making judgements. According to your logic a family with children should receive much more income than you because they have to use and pay for more services. Let's cut your income by 50% and give the rest to families 👍

@ I'm laughing here because I can't see ALL 9 comments when I'm logged in! I'm sure Youtube purposely hides comments to reduce arguments on the platform! I know lots of people encounter the same problem!! Anyway tks for your reply and informing me that my comments are actually entered onto the Youtube system!! But regardless let's hope the government get rid of the single person's discount for CTax as it seems a reasonable step to save money esp when there already exists help for people in the way of CTax Support!!!! 😁😁😁😁
