It's much safer cycling on the pavement than on the roads!!

@HoratioChinn quote - The path shown in the video looks like it could be used as a shared pedestrian/cylce lane, well maybe Tim should do something useful and suggest this to his Council?

@SteveSkinner-c8q well according to Tim his Council doesn't give a damn so there's nobody to enforce it. Pavements are far safer to cycle on than roads 👍

@MissFlight-q8f did you not watch Tim's video? Councils and police don't care whether cyclists cycle on the pavement or road. Probably because cyclists don't pay to use the road or pavement!!

@SteveSkinner-c8q Councils own the pavements, not the police so if anyone is cycling on the pavement it's a Council matter because not cycling on the pavement is outlined in a Council's by-law. Councils employ civil enforcement officers who can enforce any infringement of the by-law. If the Council isn't bothered, then obviously it's ok to cycle on the pavement. Did you read about Mrs Ward, a 77-year-old grandmother from Wyton? She died after she was struck by a VW Passat.

@MissFlight-q8f Like I typed, Tim's Council and many, if not all other councils across the country can't be bothered with cyclists cycling on the pavement. I guess even they know roads are more dangerous than the pavements. Also there are many Councils that cannot provide adequate and safe facilities for cyclists because the roads were ideally built for horse and carts👍

@SteveSkinner-c8q Ok so people can be prosecuted but we live in a society where the law is applied in a discretionary manner, where it is up to Councils/police to prosecute. If Councils and Police don't give a damn then nobody will be prosecuted. It's that simple. If you feel that strongly about it write to your MP or local councillor and tell them of your plans how you would enforce this law in a very cost effective way 👍

@SteveSkinner-c8q well like I stated, if you feel that bad about it contact your local councillor and MP with your suggestions how they can fight this behaviour that's a scourge on society. Make sure you keep Professor Tim updated on your progress 👍
