Phil must correct you mate - David Amess was killed whilst serving the Monarchy and not any constituents! MP's never serve their constituents! Once elected all MPs have to affirm their loyalty to Her Majesty in the oath they swear prior to taking up the post in the House of Commons! MPs do not swear an oath to their constituents! And why was this action an attack on democracy?? Did the attacker hold a banner whilst stabbin Mr Amess saying "down with democracy?" I suppose if a member of the public was killed then that too would be an attack on democracy because a voter has just died!!!

@friedrichgrumbeere8844 that's just an excuse to me! i've been exposed numerous times to the phrase "tory scum" on the internet and in my opinion that not only expresses but also incites hatred. Now if you want to condone inept feelings of frustration as "letting off steam" do you not think that it more than possible some people will go greater lengths to "let off their steam" and harm people? You guys are unprincipled! One only needs to walk down the street to sense the amount of anger residing in people!!

@friedrichgrumbeere8844 people get annoyed with family members , work colleagues, relatives, friends etc!! it still doesn't negate the fact people slag them off one minute but then are full of sympathy for them! I guess you like love/hate relationships eh? I suppose you got it tattooed on your knuckles!!

@friedrichgrumbeere8844 no you're clearly not understanding your own way of thinking - you say it's okay to verbally abuse others like calling BJ a narcissistic wanker and yet I'm having a problem understanding why. irrespective what BJ does, my question is why would anybody think BJ a narcissistic wanker? anybody who thinks that has clearly got an issue with BJ! Like I've stated earlier, I don't have a problem with BJ because I know a lot of MPs lie because they live in a 'right honorable' dreamworld! BJ is no different to any other MP as far as I'm concerned! but I'd never deride these people by calling them names

@friedrichgrumbeere8844 I'm fully aware of the human condition and i'm aware that many people in uk are miserable and unhappy which is why Governments sometimes use people's ill feeling to their advantage. Slagging other people off doesn't achieve anything positive other than show other people how miserable and unhappy they are. There's too many people in UK with ill-feeling and nobody does anything to reduce it!! It's not called Blighty for nothing!! Blighted with pain and sorrow!! And all the population do time and time again, year after year is vent their frustrations out on MP's and still nothing gets done to reduce the populations frustrations!!! Nothing changes!! It's for this reason why i don't vote!!

I don't know what you are trying to say! whatever way one looks at it armed police/guards would send a message out to the public that they live in a dictatorship and NOT a democracy! Ever thought the public do not want armed guards/police in places where they do not need them? next thing you'll want to bring back the death penalty! Your mindset is backwards!

Correction - MPs do not serve their constituents - they serve the reigning Monarch! All MPs swear an affirmation to be loyal to the Monarch NOT to be loyal to their constituents prior to taking up their job in house of commons!!

I don't mind emailing my local MP. I'd prefer to do that than waste my time visiting!! My experiences of MP's are that they're just a postal service where they forwarded my letters on to another person in a Government dept. If I'd have know, I'd have bypassed my MP and sent my communiques direct to the Government dept!! In this regard MP's are a total waste of time!!

quite agree!! people jump to assumptions and then base their whole understanding on that assumption. And there is anger being whipped up against the "Tory Scum" from angry individuals. Then again maybe life is telling the tories they need to be less authoritative and kinder to people?
