Sorry I can't agree to that. That's just fearmongering. HM Coastguard covering the Shetland Isles awarded a contract to Bristow Helicopters to maintain HM Coastguard's helicopter rescue services. The Coastguard have 'privatised' the service but it's still free to the people being rescued. The NHS is similar in that private companies are starting to deliver services on behalf of the NHS but the overall responsibility lies with the DHSC. We already have an insurance based system in the UK, it's called National Insurance. Did you not hear Boris Johnson increase NI to help pay for the increased costs of the NHS???

@bobjohnbowles ignorant of what? That an insurance based system like National Insurance contributes towards the cost of NHS hospital treatment?

@bobjohnbowles Quote - You mention private companies starting to deliver services, you seem to be blissfully unaware just how much of what used to be the NHS is already in private hands. That's just fearmongering and your opinion and tbh with you it doesn't change the way people are treated. People will still receive the same service. You will ALWAYS read a lovely letter in your local newspaper from a reader complimenting the free service they received whilst in hospital. The NHS will never be fully privatised because the organisation with total responsibility will be the DHSC. When that becomes private then you should start fearmongering!!!

@englishsteve1465 I'm only referring to hospital treatment/operations. I don't include dental care or opticians because during my lifetime most people have contributed towards those. And if you can afford to pay why shouldn't you pay for those services. I can't help it if you have too much money!!! Prescriptions are free for all in Wales!! Quote - old folk have to sell their houses to afford a third rate service That's a separate issue!!
1
@AurickLeru you're going into dream world there.
1
@englishsteve1465 that's irrespective - they still have the overall responsibility to manage a budget of £138.9 billion!!! When the DHSC go private then you should fear!!!!

@bobjohnbowles not at all Bob that's just you making assumptions!! As far as I'm concerned nobody not even you pay for NHS services whilst attending a hospital!

@otaupdate3151 tks for your opinion! I always appreciate when people offer me their opinion. Just ensure you don't palm it off as fact ok? A lot of people do that and I wouldn't want to tarnish you with the same insane brush as those types of people! regardless HM Coastguard is similar to NHS as they both exist because of royal charter and both have to be paid for. But in both instances, the service user does not pay a charge for their services!! what I find looney is that everybody knows politics and government are full of corruption, lies and fake promises yet people still vote! How f*kced up is that? Tell me do you vote?
1
@The Rain have you worked as a government minister in the dept for health and social care or have you even been a top civil servant in the dept for health and social care to know that what you have typed is in fact the case? Oh sorry no you haven't.....you're just another 'idiot voter' who thinks they can change things by putting a cross in a box and you've merely watched a michael moore documentary aboiut US healthcare! The moment i get charged for an operation or any NHS treatment at the hospital is when I know the service is not free! Until then, even reading people's opinions on this thread won't change my mind because I know a lot of people talk a load of rubbish most of the time!!!
1
@bobjohnbowles I'll state again Bob as it seems you're not reading - as far as I'm concerned nobody not even you pay for NHS services whilst attending a hospital!
1
@chriswales1952 Think how much money BT was making when it was privatised and just think what the Government was doing with that money it was making when they managed BT before it was privatised!!! I've never stated the NHS is a private entity, you lot seem to think it is!! Is the rail network still privatised to this very day? Yes it is!!

@Corvo_Gray let's get one thing straight - USA is NOT the UK. USA is not under Monarchial rule. The USA has around 450m citizens whereas UK has about 70m! how many of those 450m are moaning about the healthcare system in USA? I'd also like to remind you the NHS is a very much beloved part of the UK! Like I've stated before when I see patients being given hospital bills only then will I know the NHS is privatised! Until that time, i'm not going to listen to people acting like scaremongerers and prophets of doom! Haven't you lot got anything positive to say or are you that miserable?
1
@ymlaen5167 tribe of incompetants? I can't see what you have to moan about - all public services are guaranteed by royal charter! Politicians can't make that much changes to them!!
1
@erikaverink8418 You're making my point more complicated than it really is!! Did Boris Johnson recently increase NI to help pay for adidtional costs to NHS? Or did he ask a private company to run the NHS at a cheaper price? He increased the UK insurance based scheme that covers NHS expenditure the NI scheme provides.
1
@erikaverink8418 throughout all of my life i've never witnessed taxes go down so nothing new there! what's funny is that no political party or council has the aim of reducing taxes and yet people still vote!! in fact that's hilarious!!
1
@erikaverink8418 you type so much yet I don't know what your beef is! Tell me what's wrong?
