Yes she does live in council housing BUT she doesn't get any Council Tax reduction because she's living in a BAND F property, which means she's living in too large a property for her means!! She should contact the council and get a house swap into something smaller - simples. She should give up her BAND F property to a family who needs it. She's everything that's wrong in this country - me, me, me and not thinking of other people!!

Well I think Elsie should sell her Band F property and buy something smaller. She'll have a bit of capital left over to help her pay the bills too instead of relying on the taxpayer to help her remain in her Band F £400,000+ property!!

I've read your comment and I have no intention of voting at any election. In fact I've never voted in all of my life. I cannot understand why people do vote because all the services in the UK exist by virtue of Royal Charter and no political party can ever change those!!!

@G_C340 Every service in the Uk whether health, police, highways, Government, local authorities all have to gain Royal Assent in order for them to be established. For example every local authority in the UK must provide services such as indoor markets, libraries and leisure centres as per wishes of the Monarch by virtue of Royal Charters. Same applies to main Government with regard to police force, prisons, military, judiciary and the health system etc. The BBC is a prime example of a national service incorporated as a company by George V in 1927. The Charter lays out how the BBC is to be funded, the management structure etc etc. The NHS is exactly the same. The idea put forward by MP's/Lords to the Monarch and the Monarch agrees. That's how Parliament works. Guess you don't know much about the role of the Royal Family and the reigning Monarch? So it's irrespective how one votes or whether one votes, one will always receive the same services.

@rowejon only vote when there's something worth voting for!!!! Having a new political system, getting rid of the monarchy, scottish independence are things worth voting for, everything else is a waste of time!! And remember if voting in the current system actually changed anything it would become illegal!!!

@SuperLittleTyke But it's practical and makes sense for anyone who cannot afford to live in their home to sell it and downsize. You don't want to admit that it's the right thing to do because you people just want to find any reason to have a go at the Tories. The irony is that any Council wouldn't help her in the long term because she's sitting on money! Welfare doesn't pay to keep people in large homes!!!

Imo she wasn't the best example for the interview and even Max Robespierre should have highlighted the unsuitable accommodation in his video instead of Tory bashing!

@ThomBoecker okay let me spell it out to you again - she can move into a smaller property to save money!! What is the point of a single lady of 77years living in a band F property when a smaller property would be easier to manage and cheaper to live in? if she doesn't want to move why doesn't she have family members move in with her to help ease the cost of living there and make use of the empty space?? LC can do many things to combat the rise of energy prices! But the media love the story merely to highlight the cost of living crisis. However the reality is people are living beyond their means!!

@catherinematthews9573 LC can move into a 1 bedroomed flat instead of living in a 4 bedroomed property all on her own. Her local council can arrange this if she puts in a request to move. She'd still keep her tenancy rights with the council while a family that needs housing would benefit from her 4 bedroomed property!! It's cheaper to live in a 1 bedroomed flat than a 4 bedroomed one!!!

As far as I am concerned no 77 year old person, on his/her own should be living in a 4+ bedroom property, especially when it is property belonging to a local authority where social housing is in high demand. Life is telling LC that her 'home' is unaffordable because she can't pay the upkeep from her state pension alone. Most people would have down sized with the help from the council but unfotunately lots of older people are forgotten about in this society you support. There are plenty of social housing retirement complexes available for the +55's. Maybe someone should suggest it to her as it seems to be the white elephant in the room!!! It's far cheaper to heat a 1/2 bedroom flat than a BAND F 4 + bedroom property, wouldn't you say? Why not start a crowd funding campaign to donate money to LC with the aim of helping her maintain her BAND F, 4 + bedroom property? Better still contact people in her local community and see if they'll assist her maintain her BAND F 4 + bedroom property!! Nobody will help her because most rational people know she's living beyond her means!!! I mean, with all the 100k+ subscribers, is Phil going to raise money on his channel for LC? Absolutely not!!!!

@SuperLittleTyke I'm merely expressing my opinion which I'm entitled to do and I can't understand why people vote when the ALL organisations that serve the UK exist by virtue of Royal Charter - so voting won't change any of those services. So what are you voting for people? Oh yes ! You're only voting to select a person to become a Member of Parliament. Why should they care about the people who elected them?

@catherinematthews9573 Imo a Band F property is too big for LC to live in on her own. I'm aware of numerous people living in property that is above their means ie a single person living in a 3 bedroom property! I mean how messed up are people to live in a 3 bedroomed property when they live on their own and then moan they cannot afford to live there! People are fcuked up!
