Based on my experience when I was at school the only meal I had of the day was at school not because of an apparent Tory policy or population control strategy but because my parents never cared.

@stephanguitar9778 As far as I am concerned the local authority has a duty to provide school meals. If they are unable to do so due to supply shortages, they will provide an alternative service. The school would provide a temporary solution until supplies resume. People make mountains out of molehills!!!

@cathjj840 Not at that time because kids had always grown up like I did even with a Labour Government under Labour policies, so the political party and their policies had/has absolutely nothing to do with the way my parents were. I can't see how any political party is going to promote Philip Larkin's poem, This Be The Verse within their manifesto regarding better parenting.

@highpath4776 sure I can understand the quality of food one might expect from an institution like school, hospital but when one's parents care less about their children and don't even provide 1 meal day on most weekdays, that token I received at school for my dinner was an embarrassing salvation to the hardship my parents placed me under! I cared less about the quality of food. The very fact I was eating a meal was enough!
