It's called unparliamentary language - words such as liar can be considered unacceptable to be heard within the chambers of parliament. The Speaker decides what words are acceptable or not. It's there too maintain the illusion of honorifics and that MP's never do any wrong and are righteous people! Which is total rubbish! What is also important here in this example is that even the Speaker is at fault because she could of handled the situation better and informed Butler why the use of the word liar was inappropriate and what would happen if she used it again! I agree there should be a code of censorship in that MP's cannot swear, but a liar? I can't see a problem with it
