  1.  @davidgreen6490  When the vote took place in 2014 the UK was still in the EU. Since then fundamental change occurred in 2016 when the English took the majority vote to force Scotland out of EU. The 2014 vote was based on being in EU but as the UK is no longer in the EU there needs to be a new vote. The 2014 vote was only based upon the UK being part of the EU!!

  4.  @davidgreen6490  The entire process, from application for EU membership to EU membership has typically taken about a decade, although some countries, notably Sweden, Finland, and Austria have been faster, taking only a few years.
