It's not globalism that has destroyed British farming, it's just cheaper to buy abroad. Anything in Britain is expensive!! The high tax British economy, high cost of living is to blame for the destruction of British farming!!!

@pf844 Not the Tories. It's not a political problem. It's the British as a whole. Britain has always been a highly taxed economy. Look at the cost of Britains traditions and history. Billions. Look at the cost of the higher salaries in the country - billions. Look at the cost of rents in the Uk compared to France? Much higher!! Look at the cost of energy in the UK compared to France, much higher!! Etc. What's fukced up Britain is there's too many people taking money up top and not enough for people down below. So to maintain people's standards of living at the bottom they have to bring in cheap foods which undercuts expensive UK farmers!!!

So what about the recent trade deals with Aus and NZ that will mean the UK will be flooded with cheap meat putting lots of UK cattle farmers out of business?

@davey1602 Even with the transportation costs, the meat from NZ and Aus will be cheaper than the meat produced by UK farmers because farmers in NZ and Aus don't have high overheads as farmers in UK have. There is way more land in Australia to farm cattle!!! Alot of that imported meat will be served in schools, hospitals, prisons and care homes across the UK!! Didn't you watch the australian news team laugh at the UK/Aus trade deal and how the deal favours Aus and not the UK?

@davey1602 In your opinion the UK needs to be self sufficient but in the business sense, it's cheaper to buy in from abroad so stores like Tesco can make PROFIT!! Don't you realise you live in a capitalist country where money comes first and people last? If the UK was a socialist country then there would likely be more provision for growing our own food 👍
