  1.  @davidstephenson164  Britain spread christianity and did not respect the laws of the countries they colonised. They wanted people living in those countries to be like them - Christians! Pakistan, India and Hong Kong for example, were part of the empire and now how many people from those coutnries live in UK?? I know somebody living in the UK who is originally from Bangladesh. I now find out Bangladesh is part of the Commonwealth! Now let's look at Britain's recent meddling in other countries......Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq to name a few. howq many people from those countries have come to UK to seek asylum? 1000s probably!! So i'm of the view the British have largely brought all of this upon themselves!

  3. @imarcher6629  From 1757, Britain increased its control of India through the East India Company. From 1757 - 1858 it controlled much of India.. From 1858 onwards, the British government directly ruled India, and it became known as the British Raj. Wiki

  5.  @SeventhAnubis071 You're overlooking the point, it's irrespective what Britain has done in those countries, the mere fact of the British being there has enabled the people in those country to identify themselves to be British and speak English 👍
