The NI deal was approved by Charles, hence the Windsor Framework and as all MP's swear an oath of allegiance to Charles they all had no choice but to support the deal. Remember also that there are people who are settled and live in NI who declare themselves to be Irish, not British and it is for this reason by virtue of the GFA why NI remained in the EU Single Market. The market only covers goods, not people so NI is still UK territory and NI residents are still classified as British. I really cannot see what your problem is!!! I guess it would have been much easier had the English not occupied Ireland in the first place, amongst many other lands!!

  35. You get about £185 every week. That's pretty good going. In April next year it will rise to £203 every week. Plus you could get help paying your Council Tax and any rent. People receiving state pension have lots of money to live on!! Oh and if you're worried about your heating costs remember the £400 grant you're receiving and you can claim money from the Warm Home Discount Scheme of about £160. Oh and you can always put on an extrra jumper or two or ride around on a bus all day to keep warm!!! Why not visit your local library?

  43. I don't know why people harp on so much about defunding the BBC when the reality is that isn't going to happen. The BBC is an incorporated business existing solely due to Royal Charter. The BBC therefore needs a guaranteed income to meet its obligation. The best way to fund the service is through Council Tax bills as an extra precept. So if you don't watch TV you'll still have to pay it and if you're on a low income you'll get help to pay it through the CT reduction scheme! Obviously no more TV Licensing, no more visits, no more Court cases yet still the same BS programmes! That's the trouble with the UK, you pay for services you don't use!

I'd like to see real change where somebody who cares for the most vulnerable of people in society receives a better wage than somebody selling cars! There's lots of thing I'd like to see but I know none of it will ever happen! So I don't participate in this society. The Magna Carta was only an agreement between King John and the Barons who were under him. It had nothing to do with the people. After Cromwell, the Monarch was brought back as being head. The FPTP has been in place for hundreds of years and admired by everyone who benefits from it, including Charles so there is absolutely no reason for him to change it. Imo we live under Monarchial rule and the constitution only lies in the customs and traditions of His Majesty, his Houses of Parliament and his Lords and MP. The recent Windsor Framework that was agreed even before your democratically (s)elected MP's could vote on it is a good example of Charles' absolute authority.

  99. The UK Constitutional Parliament is made up of 3 entities, The House of Commons, The House of Lords and The Monarch. The purpose of the House of Lords is to 'proof' bills formulated in the House of Commons. The House of Lords is an integral part of the British Constituional Parliament so the only time the House of Lords can be abolished is not when you decide to abolish it but when the Crown decides to. As the UK (mainly English) voted to leave the EU single market and customs union, a customs border could not be placed between NI and Ireland. Understand? Therefore to resolve this problem and to adhere to customs border controls the EU agreed along with the UK to keep NI within the single market for goods. It really is that simple and there is no border problem. GB is now a Third Country and therefore checks on goods have to be carried out between the two markets. I really can't see what your problem is. The Windsor framework is done and dusted and the MP's will pass it on Weds giving the DUP more incentives to get back into Stormont and do what they've been paid to do for the past year!!! Oh it's not my fault an Irish nationalist party has the most votes, leaving poor old DUP second place!! Ahhh diddums!!!!

The UK has now left the EU and enjoys 3rd country status. A border therefore has to be in place between the UK and Ireland (a member of the EU). Read carefully - because people do not want to jeopardize peace in the provinces of NI the EU retains jurisdiction over goods in that area because no border is there! Do you understand?

Like I've stated Article 31 only relates to refugees who have not presented themselves to the authorities of the Contracting State and not shown good cause for their illegal entry or presence. The second para only sets out that a Contracting State cannot restrict an asylum seeker's movements until an asylum seeker has been regularised or they obtain admission into another country. If you cared to read Art. 32 it states "The Contracting States shall not expel a refugee lawfully in their territory save on grounds of national security or public order. 2. The expulsion of such a refugee shall be only in pursuance of a decision reached in accordance with due process of law. " It's clear the UK can only expel an asylum seeker on specific grounds. Asylum seekers are free to travel to ANY contracting state and claim asylum, even if they have come from France. Why do you think the UK is spending £500million on a refugee centre in France? Because all the asylum seekers in France who want to come and claim asylum in the UK are currently living in tents so Britain is being generous by paying for permanent structures to house them all. Your bias is clearly not allowing you to think straight!!!

It's great to have a digital system in place but there still needs to be physical checks to check the goods. I can freely enter the EU market via Ni, without having to show a passport with a truck load of goods and sell those goods in the EU market. This would be illegal but there would be physically nobody to stop me. Then I could fill up my truck in the EU and bring it back to the UK to sell the goods. This again would be illegal but there's nobody to stop me. It cannot happen, there has to be physical checks on goods between different markets. Elected MP's swear an oath of allegiance not to their constituents but to the reigning Monarch. In the Monarch's Coronation Oath, the Archbishop asks "Will you solemnly promise and swear to govern the Peoples of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Union of South Africa, Pakistan, and Ceylon, and of your Possessions and the other Territories to any of them belonging or pertaining, according to their respective laws and customs?" Notice the word 'govern'. The Monarch governs the people through HER constitutional parliament. At no point does the prime MInister swear an oath to govern the people of the UK. Your birth certificate is copyrighted by the Crown, not by the Government. This means the Crown 'owns' your birth certificate. Any property/land registered in the UK is registered at Her Majesty's Land Registry. The pronoun indicates ownership. It is not called the People's Land Registry or the UK GOvernment Land Registry - it is Her Majesty's Land Registry because all land in the UK is owned by the Crown. Her Majesty's Prisons, Her Majesty's Revinue & Customs, Her Majesty's Courts and Tribunal Service etc etc. In fact most public services provided for the people are run by the Crown. You are a person subjected to Crown rule where you are not free to do as you choose. The MP's are paid by Her Majesty through her Parliament. There are plenty more examples but for anyone to think the Queen is merely ceremonial is absolutely deluded. I'm of the view the Monarch rules absolutely through HER Constitutional Parliament.

At every opening of Parliament probably, one of the Monarch's wishes for his parliament is to ensure elderly people are looked after in the forthcoming year, hence the increase in state pension! To top that, the largest pay out for councils across the UK is to pay for adult social care. Yep, that includes elderly people to be cared for by the state because friends and family careless about these people. people receiving adult social care do not have to worry about heating, shelter, food! Imo if elderly people are struggling it's because they're either wasting their money or haven't been able to make the best of their life to have family look after them! I don't make the rules in this society I just live in it and have to put with the BS!

  247.  @christopherckarkson5605  nice to see you recognise what your council tax pays for but to me it is irrespective whether one pays into the system or not as in my mind and in view of the current way of life in UK, it is the duty of the state to ensure that the most vulnerable are looked after and this includes the elderly. If people were educated better then it is likely lots of people will avoid being looked after by the state and thus reduce the adult social care bill as they would have family to look after them! In so doing, people like yourself would have less council tax to pay! The moral of the story it seems is that you and I both pay for a crap society!!

Council Tax Support is means tested, it's quite right that the more one receives the less help from the council people get. If pensioners don't qualify for Pension Credit in many cases they clearly get too much money!!!

People can't get along with each other. One only has to look at Brexit to see that people don't get on which is why the Monarch has the sovereignty of the people. So the MP's cannot work for the people because they can't please everyone but they can all please the Monarch. The UK does not have a codified constitution, it's constitution lies in its traditions and customs. For example, the MP's cannot carry out their duties in parliament's chamber without the Royal Mace present. The Mace is there to symbolise the presence of the Monarch and remind the MP's of their oaths of allegiance. All the information is there staring at people but imo many people think Charles is only ceremonial which is complete and utter BS!!

Members of the EU commission are elected and only in place for a specific number of years and they can put forward policies to the European Parliament for them to accept or reject. The Commission steers the direction of the European Union,, so they could be likened to the role Charles plays in the UK. Charles can easily steer Parliament as he is lawfully the only person in place to govern but when he dies he'll be replaced by another unelected and unaccountable heir. I fact the UK Monarch IS the law and without a Monarch the country would fall into anarchy. We live in the year 2023 and the Magna Carta was agreed in 1215 and only concerns itself with the relationship between barons and the monarch at that time. The magna carta does not apply to the common person. Additionally a vast number of agreements consented by the monarch in the Magna Carta and other subsequent charters have been repealed. We're now in 2023 and King charles III publicly swore an oath to GOVERN the people of the UK etc. So only Charles has the lawful responsibility to govern the people and this is achieved through Parliament of which charles is head. The Uk monarch being head of parliament holds Royal prerogative which means they can exercise their lawful right to have the final say when all else fails. So imo, the Windsor framework came about simply because Rishi got so fed up of the in-fighting regarding the NI protocol he asked the monarch to get involved and exercise royal prerogative to get a deal through parilament that would end the fighting. That now done and the fighting has stopped, everybody can now move on to other matters. Btw I'm well aware of walter bagehot, the glorious revolution 1689 but i still think people in the UK live under monarchial rule

In 1999 the Good Friday Agreement was signed and I'm aware this meant everybody agreed, both Irish and British that no border was to be placed between ireland and Northern Ireland. Effectively this meant both countries were ultimately tied to each other if one or both decided to leave the EU. Then the UK decided to leave the EU and Ireland remains within the EU. The UK is now a 3rd country and has to comply with international trade laws. Therefore checks on goods have to be carried out. So because there exists a strong will to keep the GFA alive no border is placed on the island of Ireland and so NI remains under the jurisdiction of the EU with regard to goods.. People like you think the EU should get out of NI as that will satisfy your own ego. However, the only way that can happen is if a land border was placed between NI and Ireland or if ireland decided to leave the EU or if Irish nationalists decided to leave NI. Unfortunately for people like you there is a strong will to keep peace in NI and for nationalists to remain in NI. So you have to remember a lot of settled people in NI identify themselves as Irish and not British! So it's only the GFA and the drive to keep peace in the region and the fact Ireland is a member of the EU that keeps British territory ie NI within the EU! Tell me, do you actually live in NI or are you one of these people who are vocal about decisions that do not concern them? If the latter, you want to stick your nose out of other people's busness!!

Likewise there are settled people in NI who identify themselves as British and cannot be cut off from the rest of UK. Imo the only solution is for the UK to rejoin the single market for goods thus also respecting the wishes of 48% of those who voted to remain in the EU. Other than that the UK has to cede to the larger market. The day the UK lost NI was when the GFA was signed. However when people in England 'controlled' the vote to leave the EU they really didn't realise the implications of what they were voting for!!!

It was only the issue to leave or should i say withdraw or remain?! Sure 52% voted to leave EU but 48% wanted to remain therefore to respect democracy and the result a soft brexit would have been the right thing to do ie remaining in the single market. Contrary to popular belief leaving the EU could never have been easy because of the GFA ie no hard border on the island of Ireland. However the UK needs to have hard borders as it is a third country. This wasn't explained to those who voted and therefore, the result of the vote can be dismissed because nobody was given proper information to make an informed decision on whether to leave given the fact the UK could never fully withdraw from the EU because of the GFA. At the end of the day people in the UK have to accept the UK cannot fully withdraw from the EU and imo, will in time rejoin!

The PM and other government ministers are members of the privvy council. These people ADVISE the Monarch on what's best but ultimately the decision on what course to take lies with the MONARCH! Finally the recent NI deal was a great example where imo, the Monarch got involved and used his power to push Rishi's deal through. The deal was even done before any MP could vote on it! Going against the NI deal means breaking one's allegiance to the Monarch! So the DUP have to accept it or they have to get out. Lastly it's HM Government (His or her Majesty's Government) and the labour party are officially called His Majesty's Most Loyal Opposition. You clearly have no idea what it is to be a King or Queen!!!!!!

Now if someone wants to start a protest march, protesting against the unfair distribution of wealth in the UK then I would join it.   454.  @jonathanpork-sausage617  But lots of people screw each other over; whether it's a next door neighbour encroaching on your land, a cheating husband, siblings fighting over inheritance, Council's increasing Council Tax year on year, train passengers treated like sardines on trains, teachers not educating kids about how to lead happy and healthy lives, the NHS finding things wrong with people just to grab more money from the Government, utility companies screwing over their customers etc The entire system is all about how good you can screw people over so your protest group needs to have a considerable following in order to get something changed.

  456.  @andreamack7867  I don't bother to vote, simply because the Crown rules and all the MP's and Lords swear an oath of allegiance to Charles, not to the people. I don't bother to vote, I don't bother contacting an MP, I'm not registered to vote, I didn't complete the 2021 Census, I don't have a TV, I don't pay for a TV Licence. The least I have to do with this society the happier I feel because for someone like me, it's not worth taking part in it. Society is one big club and it's not inclusive for everyone. The people have been voting for well over 50 years and in my lifetime, nothing much has changed for the common person. So it's a waste of time voting, watching question time on BBC and reading newspapers too, amongst many other things His Majesty's society has to offer or provides.

Imo people are not understanding the NI deal - the NI deal was given the King's approval and that's why it doesn't matter whether MP's vote against it or not - the NI deal has to go through as nobody can override the King's decision - get over it, wave the Union Jack and obey His Majesty like good British subjects!!

  471. From reading your comment I guess you are unaware the BBC exists purely because of Royal Charter. If you have any gripes about the BBC and its funding then you moan to the Monarch because it's their wish you have a broadcasting service and it's also their wish that you pay for it!!   474.  @spokes1018  imo any new funding for BBC services will be included within Council Tax. Doing it this way means the extra amount EVERY Council tax payer pays will be small. The BIG problem is that out of the majority very few people use BBC services. I never watch BBC. However within the institutions like hospitals, prisons, care homes, doctor's waiting rooms, leisure centres etc the monitors enjoy showing BBC. Unfortunately we live in a society and pay for services we do not use and also pay for services we do not have any say as to how they're run!
