  226.  @alangardner8596  Here we go, another deluded soul who thinks tthings to be true when they are in fact untrue. How long have you lived in the UK? From your comment anyone would think you've just moved here. There are 3 parts to the UK's Constitutional Parliament, 1) The House of Commons 2) The House of Lords and 3) The Monarch. Only persons in group 1) are elected. The others are unelected. For any bill to become law it has to gain assent or agreement not from you or I but from the Monarch. Elected MP's swear an oath of allegiance not to their constituents but to the reigning Monarch. In the Monarch's Coronation Oath, the Archbishop asks "Will you solemnly promise and swear to govern the Peoples of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Union of South Africa, Pakistan, and Ceylon, and of your Possessions and the other Territories to any of them belonging or pertaining, according to their respective laws and customs?" Notice the word 'govern'. The Monarch governs the people through HER constitutional parliament. At no point does the prime MInister swear an oath to govern the people of the UK. Your birth certificate is copyrighted by the Crown, not by the Government. This means the Crown 'owns' your birth certificate. Any property/land registered in the UK is registered at Her Majesty's Land Registry. The pronoun indicates ownership. It is not called the People's Land Registry or the UK GOvernment Land Registry - it is Her Majesty's Land Registry because all land in the UK is owned by the Crown. Her Majesty's Prisons, Her Majesty's Revinue & Customs, Her Majesty's Courts and Tribunal Service etc etc. In fact most public services provided for the people are run by the Crown. You are a person subjected to Crown rule where you are not free to do as you choose. The MP's are paid by Her Majesty through her Parliament. There are plenty more examples but for anyone to think the Queen is merely ceremonial is absolutely deluded. I'm of the view the Monarch rules absolutely through HER Constitutional Parliament.

  322.  @paigeleaf4581  okay let's start from the beginning The UK and even Ireland joined to EU way back in early 1970s and since then the EU has evolved. In 1999 the Good Friday Agreement was signed and I'm aware this meant everybody agreed, both Irish and British that no border was to be placed between ireland and Northern Ireland. Effectively this meant both countries were ultimately tied to each other if one or both decided to leave the EU. Then the UK decided to leave the EU and Ireland remains within the EU. The UK is now a 3rd country and has to comply with international trade laws. Therefore checks on goods have to be carried out. So because there exists a strong will to keep the GFA alive no border is placed on the island of Ireland and so NI remains under the jurisdiction of the EU with regard to goods.. People like you think the EU should get out of NI as that will satisfy your own ego. However, the only way that can happen is if a land border was placed between NI and Ireland or if ireland decided to leave the EU or if Irish nationalists decided to leave NI. Unfortunately for people like you there is a strong will to keep peace in NI and for nationalists to remain in NI. So you have to remember a lot of settled people in NI identify themselves as Irish and not British! So it's only the GFA and the drive to keep peace in the region and the fact Ireland is a member of the EU that keeps British territory ie NI within the EU! Tell me, do you actually live in NI or are you one of these people who are vocal about decisions that do not concern them? If the latter, you want to stick your nose out of other people's busness!!

  328.  @puffins4007  Quote - What was the question on the ballot paper? The 2016 vote just asked whether people wanted to leave the EU. In no way did people vote on how to leave the EU. Leave in part or in full? The specifics were not clear enough for anyone, even you to be able to formulate a certainty the UK would fully leave the EU!!! You're applying your own bias to the result, like many other people. Quote - the wishes of the people of Northern Ireland should be respected at all times. The majority of people in NI wanted to remain in the EU so you're disrepecting the peoples' wishes in NI by promoting a hard brexit. Remember some of the settled population in NI identify themselves not as British but as Irish and they are by default European citizens. So the EU has every right to protect those people. Very similar to Britain protecting Hong Kongers from the Chinese. 80% of people in Scotland aged between 18-40 want independence. At the end of the day the UK is not united in any way and people with your mindset will die off in time so we will never fully leave the EU and will rejoin at some point in the future. Britain lost its greatness when it began empire building!!! Quote - why are the EU working so hard to keep Great Britain within the EU? You sound paranoid, delusional or very anti-european. You should just relax, accept the situation and enjoy the rest of your life. Oh and never vote on the expectation you'll get exactly what you want. Democracy doesn't work like that.

  377.  @winifredrobinson5132  If you think the Monarch does not rule the people of the UK you are absolutely deluded. On 6th May 2023 Charles will be crowned King during the coronation. This is the ceremony that officially appoints Charles as King and the only person to lawfully govern the people of the UK NI etc. This is proven within the coronation oath where Charles will swear to GOVERN the people including you and I. No other person swears this oath. The UK Monarch fulfills their obligation under the oath via his/her constitutional Parliament where all members swear an oath of allegiance to the Monarch. Additionally the King can exert his absolute authority over Parliament by exercising royal prerogative. MP's, Lords (including the PM) all swear oaths of allegiance to the Monarch just like police officers, prison officers, judges, arrmed forces personnel etc. The UK has an uncodified constitution meaning nobody truly knows what the UK constitution is. Disagree all you like but the facts and proof of royal governance over the british people and the people of the commonwealth stare you right in the face! The PM and other government ministers are members of the privvy council. These people ADVISE the Monarch on what's best but ultimately the decision on what course to take lies with the MONARCH! Finally the recent NI deal was a great example where imo, the Monarch got involved and used his power to push Rishi's deal through. The deal was even done before any MP could vote on it! Going against the NI deal means breaking one's allegiance to the Monarch! So the DUP have to accept it or they have to get out. Lastly it's HM Government (His or her Majesty's Government) and the labour party are officially called His Majesty's Most Loyal Opposition. You clearly have no idea what it is to be a King or Queen!!!!!!
