So why hasn't the UK been trading with the Commonwealth for the past 70 years? I guess it's not a Commonwealth afterall 🤣🤣🤣

That's so funny!!! The EU is merely taking precautionary measures as that is what the EU does. The UK is the opposite being reactive and only spends money when it has to.

@philsinfield4665 I can't understand what you're saying - if UK could trade with the commonwealth why then did it decide to trade with EU especially given the commonwealth is a much larger trading 'bloc'??

What's the problem with it?? The EU are only safeguarding against the UK's failure to adhere to the Windsor Framework. It seems a perfectly sensible thing to do. Remember the EU are precautionary whereas the UK is reactive.

@Doggle Bird The EU aren't making threats. That's just your isolationist perception of it. The EU has just put in place measures to take action in case the UK fails to adhere to its obligations under the Windsor Framework. The EU would do the same to any Third Country. Remember the EU are precautionary whereas the UK is reactionary.

@garrywynne1218 but we could have traded with the (approx) 2.6 billion people of the Commonwealth before 1972 and continued to do so without EU involvement duh 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@Doggle Bird quote - My point was that the UK should respond by putting in place measures to take action in case the EU fails to adhere to its obligations under the Windsor Framework. But what can the UK do then?

@Doggle Bird Btw, the Uk will only be able to trade in certain goods with the CPTPP because all goods will need to be shipped over to the UK, which will take about 4 weeks!! So add onto the price of the goods the extra cost for shipping 👍

@Doggle Bird you certainly have a disdain for the EU and anything European don't you? At the moment since leaving the EU, the british economy has shrunkl and continues to do so. I just take a look at my local economy, and I witness businesses and shops closing, less footfall on the streets, pub are closed more than they are open, more blacks and asians, shortages, price rises, worker strikes! It's irrespective what you're opinion is on anything the state of the country is enough to let everybody know the UK is in decline. So what are people actually doing to reverse the decline? I haven't seen anything!

@Doggle Bird you clearly did not read my comment - quote - Britain's economy is not shrinking. That claim is based on an out-of-date IMF projection I use my eyes and base my views on what I experience - I can SEE decline in the UK economy!! quote - I want to see the destruction of the economic and political union in Brussels and it being replaced by a simple European trade bloc. Why do you dislike the EU so much?? Why do you consider it coirrupt? Do you not think your views can be applied to the UK?? I can I'd like to see British society changed so everybody benefits equally and every public service is fit for a King or Queen. I'd like to see a british society that is free from lies, where politicians are open and honest about what they're doing. I'd like to see the British society provide a proper education to all of its citizens. I'd like to see a British society where the individual is considered equal to the state If people can criticize the country you live and you only criticize others and not your own then you seem to me as being somebody who cannot see the wood through the trees!
