The ECHR has nothing to do with the EU trading block. I'd imagine the ECHR covers all countries in Europe whether they're in the EU or not. Even Turkey and Iceland have adopted the ECHR

this is soooo funny! The Brits are funny people! The Rwanda scheme is not a way to reduce numbers of people in the country; the Rwanda scheme is an exchange scheme. So for every 1 illegal immigrant sent to Rwanda the UK will receive somebody from Rwanda in return!! Why do people think the Rwanda scheme is a one way project? @susancurtis1651 they enter british waters illegally do they? So a refugee who swims the channel to arrive in UK is entering british waters illegally? What utter BS! Any refugee from anywhere on the earth has the LEGAL right to enter UK if they wish to claim asylum in that UK!! This is not considered to be illegal immigration Btw the british people are not sovereign - the british sovereignty lies in the Monarch and if the Monarch wants asylum seekers entering the country there's sweet fack awl you can do about it!!

@stocko5448 it's not a case regarding which country wants to take refugees - it's more the case refugees wanting to seek asylum in a particular country. If a refugee wants to seek asylum specifically in the UK then they have every lawful right to come here. This applies to 1 refugee or even 1m refugees!! You should be grateful that 1million refugees don't want to come to UK!!

@stocko5448 refugees have every lawful right to cross the channel in boats of whatever description and lawfully claim asylum in the UK. They can even swim if they want to!!

did you not know Rishi agreed to pay £500m to build a new center nr Calais to properly house refugess wanting to come to the UK. I think the money would be better spent bringing them all over in a safe manner!! Still at least they won't have to sleep in tents anymore!
