  1. Dutch voting system is PR whereas the UK is FPTP. It's one reason why the British can never be like the Dutch 👍 It's got nothign to do with guts but more to do with the voting system.

  2. It's much deeper than that. Imo the voting system only (s)elects a person to work for His Majesty's Government. Once (s)elected the MP swears an oath of allegiance to the Monarch, not to the people. So the FPTP is relevant as a voting system for the MP's in Parliament. The Monarch and loyal MP's would not wish to have PR for the general population because there would be the potential for republicanism to enter Parliament and this is something they would not want to happen. @@Madie839
