@jeff-p8l I watched the first few minutes and it's clear from the very onset that I don't want to imagine and I'm not living in India in 1875!! I'm living in 2024 and it's cheaper to buy steel from abroad than it is to manufacture it in the UK!! Do you not realise how much British manufacturing has gone to China over the last 50 years?? Do you not realise that China is becoming the world's no.1 manufacturing country? Do you not realise that Western economies including the UK's are in decline? Why because Western countries have become too friggin expensive!! They are literally pricing themselves out of the markets, esp. when companies want cheap cheap to make profit profit!! Tice should know all of this being a business man himself but he foolishly thinks Britain can be great again. In 1875 only a handful of countries were making steel, Britain had little competition and was selling a lot of its coal and steel! Nowadays other countries have surpassed Britain and the competition can't be matched!! Tice, Reform and all of these so called patriots need to have a reality check because they're not living in the real world where things are changing!

Tice fails to realise it costs far more to manufacture steel in the UK than it does to buying it in from other countries like China. The West is outpricing itself in many sectors.

@NeonXXP What don't you understand about a capitalist society where money and profit come first? Western countries are pricing themselves out of certain markets because products are too expensive to manufacture in their own countries, especially as many of them have to import the raw materials. Lastly China’s average monthly salary is significantly lower than those in Western countries 👍

@jeepxj8903 Financially it is the right thing to do if a product can be imported cheaper compared to the cost of making it ourselves. The UK can never be self sufficient because it cannot produce the many goods and products that are on our shelves at a low cost. Unfortunately there's a big wide world out there and it doesn't revolve around Britain anymore👍
